The Gunships need Balancing
I just came from a mission where there were three gunship fabs all near each other. It is impossible to finish this.

I was running around a mission with 4-6 of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ things, and i was shooting them down, but everytime I did, two more would replace them. Eventually I ran out of ammunition and reinforcements it's absolutely insane.

Outside of the regular reinforcements, there is no cover for gunships, and those 3 fabricators will spit out more gunships than you can kill, because they are within each other's range and gunships will not stop chasing.

These three towers are essentially: immortal.

The gunships will strafe with inaccurate fire for about 6 seconds with 4 seconds to reload, and use grenade launchers that ragdoll, you and it is entirely possible to get ragdolled multiple times.

If you're going to RNG spawn them, at least add a qualifier that they can't be near each other or that the maximum amount of gunships in the sky cannot exceed 3.

iirc, one was trying to hellbomb the facility, i was shooting down gunships. Two were fighting both the land forces and air. There was also an artillery facility nearby (in range of the leftmost fabricator)

I got to the base of one but it kept destroying the hellbomb, which is a problem because its immune to all damage but hellbombs.

I got pretty hairy, TTK for one gunship's like.... 10 seconds for AMR? 6 shots per gunship assuming you don't get shot back or ragdolled, etc. Probably the most frustrating 10 minutes of my life.

There's really no cover for these damn things. Even cliffs are easily flown over, they can outrun you too. At one point I counted 6 gunships in the air, so I'd shoot one or two, and then 10 seconds later there were 6 of em again.

They themselves don't need balancing butm their spawn rates do.

Yeah agreed. Or spawn location. I thought the worst I've seen was 2 strategem jammers beside a sensor tower, until I saw this one. Either cap the spawn rate for entities near the player entity or have a minimum distance between each fabricator.

Managed to solo when there's 2 gunship factories next to each other. running meta - scorcher + quasar cannon.

Quasar 1, scorcher another and reload, quasar another, etc.

The more squad members there are nearby, the most gunships spawn. If there's too many, you have to run away and let them de-spawn, not attempt to fight 8-12 gunships.

We failed a recent MO, so we have to deal with them without the proper strategems to defeat them. Its how it goes.

Yeah that was Plan C. Run away from 6 gunships. But they have ragdoll effects and you cant really use cover to avoid their fire.

Training manual didn't specify how to avoid the gunfire of 6 gunships.

The gunship factories spawn like 1 ship every minute, they die in 1 EAT/RR/quasar shot, but again the medium+ pen weapons kill multiple per mag for example its 2-3 AC/sniper shots or about 1 second from the laser cannon.
Even the scorcher can kill them in a magazine.

As they die so quickly and easily and the only thing that makes them even slightly difficult atm is you have to hellbomb the factory as the usual methods to instakill these side objs (500kg/laser/precision strike/380mm/walking barrage) don't.

Die, respawn, and keep getting further, eventually they despawn. to do gunships, only players who can kill gunships with weapons should go, otherwise, stay teh ♥♥♥♥ away as you'll only make it harder.

I've come to dub the gunship "the Buzzkill." Because they're simply not fun to fight.

Trick is to have a relatively clear area with no army on you when sending in hellbomb. There is absolutely no need to go directly underneath the buildings. When calling in hellbombs, i always call it on the outside where it can hit, even outside the walls, and where I can defend from just 1-2 directions, not in the middle where enemies are 360 all around.
