not noob friendly for MP
So I purchased the game late. Only lv 7 so I'm still learning the game, but apparently that idea is lost on the community. They expect you to be perfect or they kick you. Cmon. It's a game, NOT A JOB. have fun.

It's very noob friendly. The issue is that you get level 2 players on level 8 difficulty and they are a strain on the team at that point. You should be on medium till around level 10 then move up to hard. TBH I hate kicking but if I'm on a difficulty 8 mission on Malevalon Creek I want a team full of people with the best stratagems and weapons unlocked. Don't get me wrong, I'd never kick for not running any kind of meta but we literally had a level 2 guy burning all our reinforces and he couldn't help with anything so next mission asked him to go play a lower diff.

I don't get people who get a buddy to help them unlock high difficulty then start joining other lobbies as a noob. You aren't equipped, it's not personal. At level 15 you at least have the orbital laser and a few other essentials. I'd take a level 15 into high difficulty.
Don't feel too bad there TC. I feel like the people in the hardest difficulty are significantly worse then those I've run into in the easier ones. A lot of people are terrible at picking their fights. I see people shooting those giant mechs with their shotguns instead of running. Engaging every scouting party they run up against instead of avoiding majority of them.

I had to take a break from the game lol.

What level of mission did you join.

Always recommend you host, especially if you’re new.

Many considered this basic knowledge but for me it was unknown :) So, no worries - ppl tend to expect as much from others as they do from themselves.

I got to level 25 before I realised you could open those Container Stashes. Mostly because I'd played solo the whole time. Someone chucked a grenade at one in MP and "Blew my mind"

I dont join many lobbies I usually host which fixes the issue, the player interaction also varies with difficulty, for the most part higher difficulties have been more chill in my experience

Same, while we're giving tips it's not really a secret but you can use auto cannons and the likes to destroy factories/bugholes and you can use high explosive stratagems like the 500kg in place of a hellbomb sometimes

That largely depends on the difficulty you are playing on and if you're random queueing. If you are level 7 you're still new and people can see that, but if you're doing higher difficulties where people need to pull their own weight (which you won't be able to due to lack of gear/strategems) you may get kicked. If you want to do high difficulties, find a group to play with or just level up some and grind out the lower difficulties for samples/xp/medals/etc. 4-5 shouldn't really be an issue at any level and you still get rare samples which is enough until you start getting in the late teens and have better gear.

I personally don't really care what level you are in my games but if you constantly die and bleed reinforcements you are hurting the team. Again that may not necessarily be your fault due to lack of access to gear, but it still indicates you're probably not ready for that difficulty yet.
I largely enjoy taking lower levels with me, partially because trial by fire is kinda funny but also I think it's fun to teach the new guys the ropes. Sometimes they surprise you, its all about the team dynamic of a particular lobby if you play with a bunch of sweats you aren't going to have a good time. Shrimple ad that

Play low difficulty missions with other noobs?
Van Apr 4, 2024 @ 11:23am
Yup, people forget that the difficulty doesn't matter when training up from 1-4 up to say 5 and 7 especially. You are fighting the same enemies of the same health/damage no matter what: the difference is the kind of enemy types + amount as the difficulty ramps up.

So if a noob can't handle a Charger or Devastator by themselves on 1-4, it's only going to get harder because that newbie will be going up against 2 of them, plus mobs, plus enemy reinforcements then, and more complex objectives.

Any operation completed will contribute to the war effort, so there's no shame playing easier difficulties.

Honestly just disable crossplay, and if you very recently just started playing the game, I would honestly not dive headfirst into the games hardest modes, and at least play from regular to hard till you're high enough level, otherwise you'll be seen as someone who may not know what to expect or what they are doing.

I'd say Mortars only an issue in specific situations IMO. Like I wouldn't use it on the "terminate x amount of enemies in a very tiny battle field" since it's so small and being surrounded by enemies is pretty common place. I will definitely say if well placed, they are one of the best turrets in the game though. If you place them with that other mortar that slows enemies down then it's even easier to use lol.

Just mainly don't use them where you're expecting to be surrounded by enemies a lot really.
