Is the incendiary breaker really buffed?
15 per pellet to 20 per pellet is quite an improvement, but its still garbage even against hunters, taking multiple(2-3) shots at close range where a regular breaker takes one. Plus anything beyond point blank seems to take half a magazine to do anything- pretty much the same as it used to be. And the fire damage seems to do nothing whatsoever...

There is an issue with fire dots damage. If you are the host then it works, but if you are not then it does nothing. The breaker incendiary is pretty good for the host right now.

I was testing it earlier by just launching a shot into a crowd of bugs from a distance to minimize pellets hit and it was absolutely melting all the trash bugs from the burn DoT (scav, hunter, warrior and hive guard went down pretty quick).

That's pretty useful being able to fire a shot from far away, pepper a crowd with fire and a bulk of the trash dies from fire DoT: burn lasts like 3 sec so pace your shots when at a distance.

It just sounds like you got hit with the gas/fire damage bug where it sometimes won't register.

I wonder if is that bug.

I will say I did play like two games as host, maybe 3? And the damage felt negligible at best. I could be wrong, though..

It just feels very underwhelming even after the buff in both host and not host, I end up just firing my gun to finish ♥♥♥♥ off instead of feeling like the DoT is doing anything at all.

It's markedly more viable than it was previously. Not being the best gun in the game doesn't mean it wasn't improved.

Also not one-shotting everything in the game doesn't mean it wasn't improved. It was one of the weakest direct-damage weapons and rightfully still is, it's just been improved marginally along with burn being improved significantly. Good buffs for most things. RIP Arc thrower, though, they should have fixed it so the gun fires more than 50% of the time before trying to "balance it," since the performance data is going to be absolutely wrong.

Number of shots is a bad metric for a gun all about lighting everything in view on fire. Light them, watch them burn, how many burn procs do you need is a better answer.

That's flat out lie

Dots work 24/7 host or not
I play today with full flame kit as joiner not host for 3 full maps with this pug vs bugs

Flamer
nades
shotgun
airstrike

vs bugs

you shoot of 3 to four rounds above the pack mobs with shotgun

watch and laugh as they still come out you then die to dot dam moments later

shoot kite watch the kills rake up as you run away

same with all the flame damage

dot its great now feels like does something I even use flamer vs Bile Titains

this as on lvl 8 maps

great way get high kill count

No, it's an absolutely good metric for a game where if you wait for something to die, the longer you have to wait the longer you have to be at risk, especially when the DoT just.. doesn't do much.

It also doesn't seem to stack, which means shooting something multiple times does not make it burn for more damage, at the very most it just re-ups the time.. possibly.

In general DoT is very .. iffy in this game, specifically because as I said waiting it means you're just spending more time under threat, which doesn't really work in the higher difficulties.

The arc thrower's RoF decrease is the only real L it took. It still feels powerful.

And while I understand your comment about the oneshot, that's not what we're asking for. Being more viable than before doesn't make it an improvement, though, either. Just because it got a buff doesn't make it.. good..

prepatch took full can to kill a charger now kill it less then can

Its my go to for bugs atm

bug breach just throw nade on it or air strike naplam push into with flamer everything dies

B4 patch I thought need a stagger on flamer I was wrong all need was more dot dam kill much faster

We're talking about the Breaker Incendiary, not the Flamer, and the Flamer could kill 3 or so chargers in one can (I believe?) after the first buff.

But as I said, this topic was about the Breaker Incendiary, the primary weapon.
