Guard Dog with bullets

Still trash. Runs out of ammo so quickly and I think there's some bug there where he starts refiling ammo just after a couple of shots and can only be resupply via resupply drops.

No - just use a useful stratagem, like minefield or a redundant experimental weapon (nothing beats having 2 Quasar or 2 EATs ;) )

They're great at picking smaller critters.

Rifle dog should refilff it's ammo pouch from regular ammo picks up. It has a better burst dmg I think, but it runs out of ammo too quickly.
And I think it's bugged. Seriously, he was out of ammo in first 1-2 minutes of mission. I hadn't noticed it shooting at anything more than a couple of burst before returning to resupply.

Tho it still needs another buff, if it could restore ammo (like, 2 mags) from regular ammo pickups (you know, like literally every other backpack that has ammo can) it'd be golden.

Agreed that either it needs to be able to at least refill 1 "magazine" from regular ammo container pickups, or maybe just have a bigger "magazine" (longer time between having to reload/rearm by docking to the backpack), for it to really be on the same level as the rover is against bugs.

Laser one is sooooo much better but likes to shoot everyone in team more than some griefers.

MG needs big drum magazines because its just broken with how much time it spends on your back reloading. Only thing it is good at is not shooting teammates as much, but since its on your back 80% of time not firing, I guess that isnt saying much.

Honestly, the Guard dog needs to just be given infinite ammo, but require reloading more frequently then the Rover. There is absolutely no reason to take the Guard dog over the rover, because it runs out of ammo far to quickly for it to actually make a difference. The few times it could make a difference, it's out of ammo, and you might as well be backpackless.

The uptime is the big problem that makes Rover a better pick 99% of the time. Like, obviously with higher DPS, the Guard Dog needs some downtime to balance it, but it still has way too much.

It'd also be nice if we were able to manually make it retract by pressing 5 so it isn't wasting ammo on targets we don't care about.

Laser rovers rack up kills really quickly, they are my preferred anti hunter deterrent. Hell laser rovers just protecc you from anyting that gets too close, fact!

Tried the guard dog and it was still garbage. 2 teammates brought laser and I brought that to test and it just sits on your back more time that it actually functions. Unless you hoover all the supply drops to yourself, it is constantly out of ammo and probably the least brought and useful thing in the game next to ballistic shield

That's why I'm saying it has higher DPS. But what does it matter if it sits 80%+ of match on your back.

I am not saying it wont teamkill, it just does it far less often. Even if it didnt spend the majority of match sitting on your back (which I agree it does) it would be better about tk than the las dog.

That is sadly however the only thing it does better, there is basically no reason to ever take it over the las rover which is why I dont think I have ever seen a single person use this in a game.

Would definitely help a lot. As it is now, you have to just be a supply goblin and hoover every supply drop and then camp it to use that thing. Many times I will be full ammo but that thing will be out and useless.

Infinite ammo would make it a little broken the other way, but it should def get ammo from any source that gives the player ammo.

It's kinda nuts it doesn't already. Regular ammo packs laying around at every POI even refill spear/RR rockets. It's nuts.
