Windows Store is core software that is required for you other apps to work. Without proper windows updates and apps your Steam connection will fail and cross platform connections can error out due to mis-matching apps across platforms.

That means connections between platforms not you connection to Valve. Valves platform>Sony Platform. You still need cross connection software for apps to access Sony/Valve/Xbox accounts that are tied together.

Lol, no. This is nonsense and probably someone trying to farm Steam awards.

We're jaded on this board, you need to put in a little bit more of an effort, if you want to farm clowns.

No its not. Windows Store is where you get your core windows apps updated. Do you think Valve just plug in to Sony?

How do you think your PC knows how to connect to another platform in another programming language on another hardware network?

Valve connect to both Microsoft Live Network and Sony. Valves and Sony software runs on core windows components. the CPP app is now a core component for WIndows.

Cross Device Experience Host, is a new App added by MS in January to alter how apps access windows devices. Its core purpose is to replace windows host process for mobile (which was formally required for phone & tablet access, and to add further enhancements to core windows features streamlining cross-platform connections over networks.

Gee um I dunno, maybe standardized internet communication protocols.

What is the specific app name on the store I should be looking for?

Mate let me get a chance to type ffs. I am dyslexic with a crap keyboard atm making it harder to type because my finger memory is wrong. This spare one has a tiny backspace and has the hash key in the wrong place.

I have crossplay disabled, do I still have to update my apps on MS store?

Pretty sure you are supposed to delete the MS store icon and forget that it exists.
