They reenabled airburst proximity trigger on helldivers
Next week, Alexus decides that the spear should only lock onto helldivers.

The game literally relies on not having supporting systems like friend-or-foe recognition.

There's a difference between weapons not caring if they hit your friends, and a weapon you're firing detonating in the barrel because somebody is standing two feet to your left.

As far as I know, the proximity trigger on helldivers has always been there ? Reading the patchnotes, I assume that it now won't trigger on corpses and some metalic stuff anymore (like turrets stratagems and such).

*your friend runs up behind you out of sight of your camera, causing your weapon to explode immediately*

"Skill issue"

Next let's make all electricity weapons fork backwards to hit you if somebody is behind you.

How can we have FTL travel but not some kind of technology that prevents the missile from exploding until X seconds after leaving the barrel? Or maybe just a signal or beacon built into the Helldivers armour which doesn't trigger the bomb to airburst due to IFF stuff.

We should be able to upgrade stuff, or install mods to stuff, I dunno. Install a proximity safety on your launcher INSTEAD of a bigger AoE or damage (nobody will ever install the safety)

Honestly FTL but not some sort of recognition system that wouldn't explode near a marked person via like a badge or some other method, you'd think we were more advanced! My favorite is the dog drones headshotting you lol

Airburst Rocket Launcher will no longer detonate when shot near stratagems (HMG turret, Sentries, Resupplies) and other Helldivers
Reduced proximity radius

Nevermind me then. If it indeed triggers the explosion because of a helldiver behind you or on the side at the same level as you, then it sucks.

I've died multiple times to airburst when it's literally exploded in the barrel while team reloading someone. For some reason your character basically puts his head right below / almost in front of the barrel.

Pretty sure that just meant when you are standing next to them, but would still detonate when fired toward a Helldiver in the distance.

I don't know, we'll see how it works now...
