2 shots to the legs and they gone
even after the buff
Plasma punisher knocks them all over the place
Scorcher still works too
Any Grenade, Impact Grenades work the best
Flank them
Shoot their legs
Shoot between their legs
Aim for the pilot through the front plate (explosion seems to have been increased but it seems easier to penetrate through the "sight slit")
If there is enough room to do so without getting shot to pieces by a swarm of bots: ..just run up, have them initiate the stomp and walk around to shoot the rider.
You can shave of the pilots head plate if your aim is better than mine or if you are using a laser weapon (those chip it even when your aim shakes, works decently well)
If things are dire support weapon into the face plate and it's gone or if they are close already grenade them.
you may notice that I didn't even know you can kill their legs with a bunch of weapons until I read this thread .. mostly because they really aren't that difficult to deal with.
I came here to say exactly this.
It's thread answer lol
thats basically the definition of an unballanced game.
to me striders were just perfect before the buff...
Yeah, it's wacky that they thought to further buff striders.
You're just stuck on the idea that they should be brute forced down from the front through the armor when there are better options like flanking around, using elevation to shoot the head or throwing a grenade behind the legs.
♥♥♥♥ gun vs everything else
well..yes..because the whole gameplay is brute force from the front most of time!!
this is not a strategic shooter where you always have the time and possibility to first get in position before picking a fight.
when a pack of them is swarming you, there is often no flanking option left...in a higer difficulty missions it not just a bunch of them...you'll run out of granades within 2 minutes if you're not allready dead, because you tried to flank them, while there were a handfull of devastators that rocketed you into oblivion, while you tried any maneuvering outside of cover...
don't get me wrong...they should not be paper thin enemies, but it's somehow ridiculous when you bring armor penetrating weapons, which then can't penetrate even the striders armour...or when you have to shoot the strider legs with 2-3 autocannon rounds.
you know, balancing goes both ways...
