Scorcher does not have this kind of AoE.
AC is not primary and it absolutely SUCKS in killing regular bots even if they're close to each other.
Trade offs.
Oh, this is an entirely separate issue. Arrowhead made the pants-on-head decision to give Scout Striders explosive resistance (and rather a lot of it, it seems like). That obviously kneecaps the Purifier against them, along with every other explosive weapon.
This is so typical of their awful design. Here's an enemy with thick frontal armour and an open cockpit. A clever player would quickly put together that such an enemy would be vulnerable to explosives. "No!" says the Arrowhead balance team. "Bad player! Hit them from behind like you're supposed to! Stop trying to be clever!"
You fight like the balance team wants you to fight. If you find any alternate ways, expect them to be patched out. Helldivers 2 was great by mistake. Players latched on to and enjoyed a lot of the ways in which balance worked not as intended. Arrowhead have been trying to fix that ever since.
Trade offs only work then when trade is actually worth something.
This gun got garbage dps and worthless aoe in exchange for ????
If disadvantage of weapon makes it not worth it for you, that's your opinion, your preference and your playstyle, you're not forced to pick and use it, go for variant that suits you more.
You literally agree with me and explain why.
Muh range means nothing when the gun has no DPS. It's almost Eruptor-tier, but unlike the Eruptor you can't even move at full speed shooting it.
But I don't? I literary call it garbage, because this trade doesn't work.
This gun trade out the most important thing for a gun, The Dps.
There are no point in bigger aoe than scorcher or longer range than plas punisher if it can't kill things fast enough, it's just a poorly design gun.
You ignoring advantages does not make them disappear.
DPS is not mean everything, you would understand that if you ever played against bots, mr bug man.
It is a garbage weapon vs bugs, but it is good vs bots.
I haven't tried to against bots - does it knock over the walkers with the explosion? If it did that I think it's definitely worth it.
