Protect generators from automatons
so for what i am seeing this new mission is even more bs than the civilan evacuation missions? how the ♥♥♥♥ do you protect generators when you have constant enemy drops of even at at enemies (2 of them at the same time) + tanks? doors go down like paper and enemies seem to target generators from far away so there is no way in hell you can protect them unless i guess you cheese it with smoke or shield generator spams?

Hard disagree just did a few on 9 they aren't easy by any stretch but they aren't impossible or even close to civilian evac, as long as you dont get pushed back they spawn in a very favourable position and anytime you start to get overwhelmed have a laser, infact nearly everyone should have a laser, and have 1 person bring EMS and a couple bring mortars, everyone should have 500kg for tanks and factory striders also. as I said its not easy but its certainly not impossible.

I sure do love it when a dropship dumps a group of enemies on the landing pad, bypassing all defenses. Of course there's the whole "factory striders snipe the generator from their spawn point" thing...

They only spawn on the platform if you get pushed back to far which you shouldn't be. you just need sustained DPS while your big chungus strats are cooling down

4 mortars and chill. Its not hard. honestly the level 9 bug ones are a harder. Everyone get EMS mortars, regular mortars and EATs, shoot down drop ships, mortars clean up, boom your done.

So you need a premade team, cool, except it shouldnt be mandatory on level 7 missions. 2 walkers every 2 minutes in insane

Walkers have a big weakness. Their belly. About 3-4 ac shot in it and kaboom. You can also remove the laser gatling thing in 1-2 ac shot so you can get close.

Other than that, mortars, lasers, 500kg bomb, whatever. The map have bottleneck making it a lot easier.

Well, in worst case scenario, having a the shield stratagem(The area effect one) can buy you about 30 seconds. Also hugely useful before you reach the "Oh my god they're through the final gate" stage. Great for protecting turrets and players from the ranged fire. Dropping an auto cannon and a Gatling, protected by a shield, behind their spawn point can be absolutely devastating, especially if your team has dropped mortars and EMS mortars. It's also great at simply distracting the bots, which staggers their attack. Instead of 4-6 drop ships worth all charging you at the same time, you get 2-3 drop ships worth wondering off to deal with two turrets, making the ones that charge straight for the objective easier to deal with.

I mostly play bot 7's (cuz 9 is just, "what if but more devastators?") and these can go bad fast if nobody brought something for the factory strider.

But since airstrikes take out tanks and hulks, everything else is a cakewalk. I don't think these missions are too tough.

You literally just need to shoot into a single choke point.
Bring mortars, and resupply packs. Have someone go autocannon to take out the bigger mobs. As long as you got
1) motars
2) constant supplies
3) autocannon
4) orbital laser
than you'll easily pass the mission.
Bonus if you take the grenade launcher but thats just me.
Using stun nades also help incredibly not just here but in general.

It's legit one of the easiest missions in the game (second to evac personal)

If you want to pass evac personal 100% of the time just don't be at the base. have one guy push buttons while everyone else farms samples/pulls aggro
Both mission types are incredibly easy and kind of boring if you ask me.

it is pretty easy. Equip an orbital/Eagle stratagem to take turn to take down strider/tank. Mortar and EMS mortar for the mobs. Support weapons to target medium/heavy. I win 80-90% of diff-9 defense with randos.

Defense missions are hard? First I've heard this comment unless striders spawn over the gens.

The area of effect shield.

Use it.

Gate closed but being hit hard, toss the shield on the inside, the bubble covers the gate.

Gate gone, use the shield dead center to plug the hole. Units that wont pass through will stop on the other side and shoot the shield first, only the runners will push through the shield.

Worst case, use it on the generator, to buy those few seconds you might need.

Outside of that most of the others have covered what to do!
