Its not very anti material no.
You need to shoot bots in the face with it like with the AC.
Yeah that could use a buff in pen to. It gets far to easily bounced for a heavy machine gun aka 50 cal.
The HMG, 100% has Heavy penetration and shreds striders frontally in like 8 shots? it will kill a Hulk if you fire at the visor just like every other heavy pen weapon. It kills devestators frontally very fast without even hitting their head and probably 1 taps or 2 taps them with headshots.
maybe just uh.. become better.. (it does need 100 rounds tho)
It was best vs bots.
It was best vs bugs.
It was best for hoard clear
It was best for medium armored targets.
It was even good for killing hulks and chargers.
It was able to destroy materials (open doors)
It was able to close holes and destroy fabricators.
Massive amount of ammo.
Animation canceling doubled the fire rate.
It was literally able to do everything.
It could even kill bot gunships.
We need that meta back again. We need that one size fits all weapon that does everything best. Having only 1 weapon best at everything is fun. It helps with build diversity. It makes the game playable.
No, it's high end of Medium Penetration (Same level as Anti-Materiel Rifle, Laser Cannon, Autocannon and HMG Emplacement)
Heavy Penetration would've killed a hulk in its armour in front or sides like Recoilless Rifle, Expendable Anti-Tank and Quasar Cannon does but HMG can't
Same with other targets like Bile Titan, Charger, Tanks, Factory Striders
AMR, Laser Cannon and Autocannon can't penetrate its armour but can penetrate its visor, it's high end of medium penetration same as HMG
And there's low end of Medium Penetration that some Primary and Secondary weapons have (Like Diligence Counter-Sniper or Senator), they can't penetrate hulk's visor
As it stands, AMR 4 shots gunships, 2 shots hulks, and mag-dump kills tanks. Not to mention in 1-shots all Devastators. What more do you want?
It's me Alexus speaking the friendly DEV from Hello Neighbor....i mean Helldivers 2.
Upon further investigation i think that's a great idea to have these 2 weapons more penetration.
To offset this buff we....i mean I decided that it is in place to remove the triggers from these 2 guns so that it will be balanced. Take some give some that's my whole approach. If you have further feedback PLEASE let me know :)

Next update will have it more armor for more survival but to offset this Helldivers can no longer enter the Mech!
It was never the META ever with the Eruptor and i played the game over 280 hours i think. I played (mained) the Eruptor since launch with the AMR combo. And i can tell you this i saw HARDLY any people using it except for a very view maybe in all my matches 7 to 9 times. The rest you say without going much in detail is correct tho. Its a slimy slimy act to nerf this gun to oblivion! AH has ZERO clue what it means to have a "single bolt action gun" it is SUPPOSSED to be very damaging with every damn SHOT. "one shot one kill". And the horrendous BAD accuracy on that gun...pfff. Most fps games always regarded SINGLE bolt action guns as powerfull one shotters. However to OFFBALANCE this attribute it came with pretty bad side effects, SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW and bad handling this IS the BALANCE. I would have less of an issue if the Eruptor was actually VERY accurate but i guess due to its nature ie slow projectile of the grenades this is an issue.
Yet AH slapped a Anti Material Rifle scope on it with imaginary 200m yet max range is 125m which gives you the false idea that it's a sniper well kind off....
The people who are really comprimised by this Eruptor nerf are the MAINERS of this gun since launch they knew the BIG BIG changes since nerf 1 and nerf 2! They even REMOVED the SKILL that is aiming at a Striders leg joint or knee joint from 100m to take it out...this made me very pissed because in nerf 1 you could still do this. Nerf 2 they removed this so no longer a reward for your sniping skills.....terrible terrible 1diots at AH looking at you Alexus plays only trivial and with A.I. enebaled ie EZ mode...
Counter sniper also top 3 on bots right now for primaries where it is at after its buffs, and is a primary to boot; so giving it heavy pen would be foolish. One shotting devastators is more than good enough.
