I hope the current Warbonds type of DLC will financially pay off for them (unlockable through play) to keep the circus going.
It's not even an issue of power creep. Payday 2 developer Overkill simply released far too much crap for any of it to be interesting. Except at least Payday 2 had to refuge in realism. You could get away with releasing fundamentally the same pistol multiple times if one's a Glock, one's a Beretta, one's a Colt... and then a few more Glocks anyway. Though the real-world brands are not mentioned, fans of those guns will still buy them.
Ain't nobody buying a Verdict pistol because they were already a fan of it. That thing didn't exist until yesterday, there's no precedent of it in the real world (aside from a broad "Deagle" comparison, but the gun's too ♥♥♥♥ for that). Any new gun in a sci-fi setting needs to justify its existence in some fashion. It needs to look cool or be fun or hit hard, or ideally some combination of those.
When you release too many weapons, they end up all blending together, watering down the original product. If weapons are going to act the same, then you may as well have fewer guns with more total conversion skins.
The main thing with Payday 2 was, you could choose what you wanted and still have it work at higher difficulties, its slowly becoming harder to do that in HD2 as it stands, because they keep nerfing the weapons.
Smart enough to make a whole video game... Too stupid to allow it to be fun... Depressing...
Killing bugs and bots was fun! Now we survive bots and bugs - we want to kill, see things die and explode. Being overwhelmed all the time is not fun.
i know there are some gamerdads out there telling everyone there is Balance and a Plan and Experience, but this is not the case!
Arrowhead needs to step in now and act. This game needs a difficulty overhaul to cater to both sides of the player spectrum and it needs a complete rebalance, but first they need to fix a lot of mechanics and how the damage in peer2peer is applied!
i dont think it need a complete overhaul and rebalance. i like that the ai got improved and bugs are now runing arround you to flank. the thing that annoys me most is performance and crashing stuff
oh, i agree 101% with every single word.
just one thing as a sidenote: Reddit found out the new Warbond Items are more like the old Stats we had before some Patches. Some people there even wonder if the Warbonds were made before release.
But if the weapons are ready AND there are no Fixes and Optimization, what exactly is Arrowhead doing all week then?
i hope we will see a performance patch soon. They are more than lazy!
Lol.
As if there are people that actually pay for super credits.
The SMG is good, period. I was hasty on it but the more I use it the more I love it. The tenderizer isn't in any way superior to the liberator and I played multiple matches back to back with both to form that opinion. In fact I prefer the liberator.
