Initial Impressions of the Tenderiser.
So, as a fan of assault rifles, I was looking forward to the Tenderiser from the new warbond, polar patriots. But after the frankly abysmal state that the last assault rifle we got, the Adjudicator, was in I was conflicted but hopeful on how this new one would perform.
I must say, I am (mostly) pleasantly surprised.
For starters, lets compare stats.
The Tenderiser has
Damage: 60
Capacity: 35
Recoil: 10
Fire rate: 600
Conversely, the Adjudicactor has:
Damage: 80
Capacity: 25
Recoil: 40
Fire rate: 550
But it should also be noted that the Tenderiser has 10 mags on backup, the Adju only has 8, so youll have alot more ammo and alot more bullets per clip with the Tend.
What these stats mean in gameplay is, based on my own experience playing on difficulty 8;

Damage wise, the Adju took the head off a standard warrior bug with around 2-3 shots, where as the Tend took it with 4-5. But this, compared with the better ammo capacity and overall backup ammo was a minor issue.
Recoil on the Tend is a dream. Seriously. If you sit still and crouch, even without the armour to buff that, the muzzle rise is minimal. You can shoot straight forever with this and its fantastic. The Adju on the other hand handles like an AK from CS:GO, and you will need to aim low to counter the substantial recoil it has.
Fire rate is mostly a whatever stat. But it should be noted the Tend has a burst fire option, whereas the Adju does not.
But here is the most crucial thing about both guns, and why sadly I am only mostly pleasantly surprised.

The Tenderiser does not have medium armour pen, the Adju does. Which means despite being the inferior rifle, it is considerably better on higher difficulties.

While I do quite like the Tenderiser, the fact of the matter is on higher difficulties, there are considerably more bugs. CONSIDERABLY more. Also meaning considerably more ARMOURED bugs. Brood Commanders, Spewers and Guardians are such a common
occurrence that even if you can quite comfortably mow down most of the non armoured "chaff" bugs, the armoured ones will just walk straight up to you and give you a good smack. I mean, on Diff 8, you can dump an entire mag into the head of a Brood Commander (or something close to it) and not break it, the Adju needs about less than half to break it.

So in summary, based on these initial impressions with hands on, the Tenderiser is probably the "best worst" Assault rifle in the game right now. The best in that is has arguably the best stats for an Assault rifle in the game, good damage, fantastic recoil and amazing ammo capacity. But the worst due to it being severely limited in its use on higher difficulties due to it being incapable of handling any armoured targets.
But hey, what are your thoughts?

I can only hear 2 magazines on backup. Over and over and over again...

If you need to put more bullets to take out armored bugs out, then you indirectly have less mags.

Thanks for saving me 1000SC

To be fair a new weapon really shouldn't cost 1000SC

Its probably the only thing he wanted from the warbound.

Speaking of new weapon, Ive yet to get the new pistol too, since its on the last page and costs 60 medals, but according to the guns description, it also does not have medium armour pen, so it seems the new space desert eagle is gonna flop real hard too.
Senator is still the king baby

It performs almost identical as the liberator.... same damage @60, a slightly slower fire rate of 600 vs 640, a bit lower recoil and 10 less ammo per magazine. So... kinda useless no?

yea i agree, its a well balanced rifle but you need something for the armored enemies, i use always the revolver, i think its a good combo.

This to me is the main reason im really not liking the new assault rifles we keep getting.
Pretty much the only reason im main-ing the Adjudicator is because it feels like a step up from the Liberator in terms of combat stats. Even if the Liberator is better in some areas, the damage and armour pen the Adju has more than makes up for it.
It just feels like the Tenderiser is a step up from the Liberator since it has fantastic recoil and amazing ammo capacity, mag size and amount of mags, but not enough to justify using it on higher diffs. I was looking forward to it too :(

Pretty much this. It just sucks how much you have to juggle between the two however. It seems we really cant just have our cake and eat it, by getting and Assault rifle that has as good stats as the Liberator but also medium armour pen.

I haven't gotten the new plasma gun yet, but yeah the other two weapons are underwhelming to say the least. The SMG does stun enemies though, so it's not all bad.

Tenderizer is very Liberator-y. I don't really see the purpose for both of these to exist currently.

The SMG seems solid. I didn't really like the defender, so, it's an upgrade on Defender to me.

I was most looking forward to the new assault rifle and new pistol.
Both of them dont have medium armour pen, even the pistol which is a space desert eagle.
Truly we must suffer.

I would agree and disagree.
I disagree cuz virtually all the stats on it are pretty great, even surpassing the baseline Liberator which is also great.
However I do agree since it doesnt have medium armour pen, and that alone is honestly a deal breaker.
