but from their stand point ... nerf old meta early so u'd buy the new meta. nerf it a week b4 the new meta so every youtube video would be saying how amazing the new meta is compared to the old meta. FOMO pays
The lessened AOE might have been needed because face it.. It was really strong. it's still strong, just a bit less.
As for this last update, i don't think i was meant to be a nerf. But yes, it seems as if it did turn out to be quite a big nerf, to the point where i'm not sure i'm going to be using it much in the future.
I usually two-shotted bile spewers (the green ones), but now it seems like 4-5 bullets are required. I noticed something similar with the brood commanders.
But anyways, balancing is required. Guns are supposed to be side-grades and all viable. Balancing will however always be on-going. Sometimes a gun is nerfed/buffed too much and it has to be retried later on.
The sickle is a nerf, because at difficulty 8 there are so many waves of bugs that you will indeed run out of ammo even with smart heat usage. I would have been fine with 5 ammo packs, or 4, but 3 is too few.
Moron
From the wording, i don't think it was really intended though. I guess we'll see.
It was intended. They want it to do less damage than it did before, but be more consistent when dealing said damage. So overall, damage loss, but they don't want you to have spikes where sometimes you do alot of damage and sometimes not so much.

Stop nerfing ♥♥♥♥.
Start buffing the crap out of all weapons.
I'd rather it be "to easy" and have to "complain" about higher difficulty levels - but actually enjoy my game, rather than it feeling like a chore. I'm not going to jump back into the game anymore. It's just not fun if I can't feel like a badass. This isn't some competitive game. There's no reason we couldn't be "OP".
If the mag nerf to the sickle is a problem for you this is a player skill issue and nothing else. You dont need 6 mags for a heat weapon. XD
The stagger affect is a life saver against spewers and devastators. Plus the loading mechanic suits my brain-dead spam-reload habbits that I've picked up from COD and other FPS.
Point being, the punisher is one of the oldest guns in the game, and it still slaps (for me anyway). And if they did nerf it, gives me an opportunity to try something new and keeps the game interesting. A challenge is a challenge.
Damage reduction must've happened before my time, it feels the same as it always has to me. The rockets I know used to track left/right with the crosshair but now they track left/right with the mech itself, which is why you could literally shoot yourself with a rocket before and can't now. It's not accurate to the crosshair, yes, it's offset to the left inside of a certain distance. Once you know it it's easy to compensate for, but it does accurately shoot POA/POI at a distance.
The Eruptor was nerfed, yes, but was rebuffed in the latest patch. They've also acknowledged it was bugged and not working as intended, it *should* be better now, but TBH I used it when it first came out and was never really impressed with it even then. To me it was gimmicky and not really a mainstay, but I get that some people were quite enamored with it. Maybe I'm just insane because I actually liked the Adjudicator but everyone else seemed to really hate that thing.
Once again with the Sickle, just be smarter with it. Use your other weapon more. If it's on the edge of overheating and you switch to your sidearm you can put a mag through it and switch back to the Sickle and it's fully cooled. Or, use those few seconds to relocate or use a strat. it doesn't take that long to cool. Changing the ICE and continuing to shoot is not supposed to be the SOP, it's just a failsafe. If you're learned to rely on that fast "reload" you've learned to use a crutch.
