Why nerf the plasma punisher?

Anecdotal, but i don't understand the need to nerf it. I switched the plasma to my main weapon because it was fun. It wasn't by any means very powerful. it fit a niche role as good stagger and great v striders. But it's easily outpaced by anything that just shoots straight. Or anything that isn't a death sentence if your projectile colides with janky environment at point blank range. It is arguably the hardest weapon to hit shots CONSISTENTLY, especially long range lobs. the huge ammo nerf just feels awful and i don't see why it was necessary. Maybe im overlooking something but it seemed like hardly anyone used the damn thing anyway. At least it seemed that the dozens and dozens of drops i've been on maybe i've seen one other person using it.

The gun is better now, power has been lower that's it.
I'm afraid that it's so good now that I'll probably get nerf, when people find out how good it is now.

Plasma Punisher got a big buff imo. You may have thought the 12->8 mags was a nerf, but to me the ammo as a whole is a buff, 6->8 mags/box is huge when running on a team and you can only grab the one supply box anyway.
