They have no idea what they're doing.
......But there ain't no justifying that crossbow nerf, that's just bonkers lol.
How did they even get to that point.
Yes, but it was a fun weapon before, even if it had issues. Now it is boring.
The game is ridiculously easy as is, there is nothing that provides a challenge that actually pushes weapons like this out of being usable. Hell you can just not use any weapons and its still easy. Just cus it was slightly worse than other weapons doesn't mean it belongs in the bin, nor does it mean it should basically just be turned into another liberator.
What they really did was remove player agency, there is less ability for us to play well with it to make a difference in terms of controlling recoil, which makes it less satisfying to use.
The crossbow was one of the best Solo Stealth weapons, its silent fire only alerted enemies at impact unless you were missing your shots and the enemy would magically locate you anyway but it was slightly less with the Crossbow.
But even still they also nerfed solo stealth play with more patrols! hahaha smh.
They double down on those weird spawn out of no where patrols that seem to increase the less locations the enemy occupy on the map and the more stuff you blow up like having less is more for patrol spawns.
Just as reminder to people...
So, the "Nerf" is giving it 2 more magazins and reducing its recoil? Some people would call that a buff. No wonder you put it into " " when you wrote it being a nerf.
And it got buffed.
And now, with more ammo and less recoil, its to easy to use? You are a strange person.
I don't think it should be classified as an Assault Rifle or Designated Marksman Rifle, judging by its name it was always intended to be a "Battle Rifle" which is something inbetween and it did gave me that impression from using it
I probably won't like it even after the buff but it definitely had character
You don't think you're being overly dramatic? Then you probably think manual transmissions were better before they started putting synchronizers in them, too.
I was a fan of pre-buff Liberator as well; I never understood the amount of sheer hate it got when it was first introduced and I thought it was the best/most versatile weapon from it's Warbond, but the buff was needed. The recoil made full auto practically unusable beyond point blank range.
Before it felt like you were just hanging on for the ride if you mag dumped it, like your Diver doesn't know you gotta lean into it. Now it feels like you're actually able to properly control it.
It still has it's niche and still suffers in the hands of the trigger happy. People using it like a Liberator will still be missing a lot and running around the map scrounging for ammo, but it's become a lot more accessible. Watch a video of someone shooting an M14 in full auto and then watch a video of someone shooting a SCAR17 in full auto. Same caliber, huge difference. The Liberator on release was the M14, now it's a SCAR.
OP is a pro gamer who prefer using weapons that more difficult to use.
Based
I said nerf, because most of the discussion surrounding this, mentioned the recoil being 'nerfed' as in, the recoil was reduced. My point, is that I think that in the sense of fun, this is a nerf in a different way.
The br14 got buffed in a way that I don't like, which is why im not happy. That doesn't mean I don't like the gun, or that I want it nerfed, which is something many people immediately assume and get the wrong idea.
It was my favourite weapon, because it was exciting to use, and I liked how there was a big difference in effectiveness based on how well I controlled the recoil, with that gone, it is less enjoyable to use.
it still isn't that good of a gun for many other reasons, but now its in a really crowded space of weapons.
It is 'too easy to use' in the sense that the recoil is very forgiving and there isn't much room for player expression through that mechanic compared to before.
What I really want more of, is equipment where the way that a player uses it and their proficiency with it actually make an impact. I want that expression of skill to be meaninful. This recoil change does the opposite of that.
+1
It isn't about difficulty, I want the gun buffed in other ways. my problem is the lack of agency we now have because we cannot have as much of an impact on the performance of the weapon now.
You pretty much have to be prone or kneeling with recoil reduction armor to achieve any semblance of accuracy on full auto over 20 meters.
All the patch did to it was make it viable against bugs, it already was strong vs bots on semi.
Are you joking, its barely any worse than the liberator etc. even pre patch it wasn't as bad as you describe it.
