Depends on whether you want to make the game easier or harder. Personally I think they should make it harder.
which is Obviously OP, since Everyones using it, if not that, then maybe the other reason is that'd be like having two weapons that do the same thing.
with this new buff you have to consider your options, do you want the faster shooting Recoilless but you have to worry about the ammo economy? or do you want a Quasar that has infinite ammo but you cant spam it as much
edit: also i forgot you dont need to run a backpack when using the Quasar, and thats HUGE, that gives you so many options
Because the lack of ammo requirement made the Quasar the objectively superior pick over all other anti tank options.
You could run 2 in a team and shoot down every bot drop that came around and never needed to worry about ammo. Now that is not the case anymore, as the recharge will be to long to do that. It gives Recoilless and EAT a lease of life, despite both needing "resupplies".
I'll still probably full time the Quasar even after this nerf though.
The other choices (save for spear) are viable, just that the quasar was simply better in all aspects.
Just because one pick was better doesn’t mean the others are useless. If you’d try the other weapons, you’d see that they are quite good in their own respect and fun in their own ways. They say variety is the spice of life after all.
Now you have to really make it count and coordinate with others better ..
It also doesnt make sense to shoot so much energy and get it recharge so quickly ..
Still OP and Meta, haven't changed much, needs bigger nerf, like a projectile drop nerf

actually, projectile drop nerf is not enough, it needs a backpack requirement to make the reload infinite too, THEN it may be sufficiently balanced to just match the other support weapons.
It's objective clear potential is too strong, shreiker nests are pointless atm, bile titans still dissapear like nothing, chargers are nothing, even bug holes are nothing.
In automaton land, hulks get 1 face shotted or 2 body shotted, tanks and tank towers are 1-2 combo with erupter/scorcher, 3 shot factory striders to weak spots, 1 shot gunships, 1 shot drop ships, etc, and still clears out basic factories at range into vents.
Still stronger than autocannon by miles except against devastators that we can just mow down with new buffed laser primaries.
Every patch is just a new bundle of test this/ nerf that
Now they've dropped another patch that blatantly feels like there punishing there players for succeeding. and unlike the railgun nerfs, this patch is so all over the place and untargeted you cant even really see what the devs were hoping to accomplish
This very much feels like being punished for having fun and winning, and i am just... not ok with.
