Why Solo nerf? Just make it 4 man mandatory.
Really, dumbest decision in forever.
'but uh game is meant to be played in squad'. then why give me the option to hellpod solo? but make that solo a living hell? How logic lacking are they.

If they wanna force 4 man, just make it like them other ♥♥♥♥ games where you cant launch in a mission unless you got a full team. Sorted.

Update on issues with this change:
-MM system is bad, longer wait times to try and get a team. Before i'd play and get teammates as i played. So now i sit in lobby forever.

-people can troll leave your squad to make a mission harder for you/ or just bad connection. less squaddies = more trouble.

-killing off stealth playstyle and basicly making stratagems that were useless more useless.
Killing off RECON ARMOR and RADAR PERK. What's the point in having them now? To many enemy's to stealth and radar will only tell me im surrounded, cuz to many enemies.

Why even limit or punish? Just design the game with four player team in mind in terms of difficulty and roll it with it.

If people want to play in more difficult environment by limiting the group size by themselves. Let them, but don't go out of your way and actively add extra punishment for doing so. Solo/small squads were already missing ton of utility and firepower due to limited amount of ammo and Stratagem slots.

I think they did. When game came out and it was still new, and people still haven't learned the jiss of it, difficulty levels were a pretty good filter for solo vs none-solo.
But now people got actually good at the game and even solo players can go higher levels. And i think that did hurt the ego of the devs a little bit.

They're giving people bragging rights, if you can solo helldive now, you're the GOAT.
If not, quit or lay off the ego and dive in a squad.

Its still doable, just requires a bit more skill. If your skill is too low to solo helldive then just lower the difficulty setting. Somewhere between 1-9 there is a setting you are able to do solo, go play whatever setting you find doable/enjoyable,

Yet the devs think its funny to ♥♥♥♥ non 4 player squads even further. Guess me and my buddies won't be playing your game anymore if we're forced to have a random in.
And would just like to add that we've tried playing with a random before and all they do is die, rage quit, a new guy comes in and they do the exact same thing. Until you finally get a competent helldiver.
They should've fixed the Quick Play MM and lobbies not refilling empty player slots first... Now it's a pain to play MP AND SP :steamfacepalm:

I liked that they gave us the option to dive solo and still do however I agree. If they increase the spawn on a solo dive give us more stealth options since that was the main mechanic most of solo dives relied on.. I play teams as much as I can but I do enjoy a solo dive myself for the MGS feeling. Now thats just been nuked and basically forcing team play all the time. I like a challenge like we all do but if you fight on a level 4 solo dive for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles now. Its a equivalent to a level 6 with a team... I don't understand the thought process of this 'Nerf' but continue to try an impossible no more stealth mechanic level 7 dive and above.

I honestly wish Arrowhead would include "Dev Comments" in their patch notes, explaining their reasoning for making specific changes. It doesn't need to be there for all of them, but it would be nice to see that for some, at least.

It would also require them to... you know, HAVE reasons for changes.

Yeah, I really don't understand that change. About the only reason I can think of is to make it harder for solo players to purge all outposts prior to extraction which can make extraction a breeze once you eliminate maybe one patrol once you arrive due to patrols only spawning from one direction and so long as you're beyond a minimum distance from the edge of the map, which many extraction points were not, or players could wait in range preventing patrol spawns.

I had time for a handful of solo runs at different difficulties and I'm definitely hitting a lot more patrols now. It honestly wasn't fun at difficulty 5. The battles at extraction are certainly not the most enjoyable part of the game, though some players might disagree. But previously at Diff 5 I most often could not destroy all outposts, especially on bug runs, tonight it was impossible, too much time spent avoiding patrols even without the primary objective completed. At extraction stuff was coming in pretty thick and fast, which just resulted in a fair bit of hit and run cheesing around the extraction perimeter until the pelican arrived , definitely not a "stand and fight" pitched battle.

On lower difficulties where I could clear bug outposts, the extraction "deadzone" still seemed to apply, but testing stepping far enough from the edge of map saw spawns literally double-up where I had 2 groups spawn in at once. Not sure if this is what is intended. It was manageable at the lower difficulty without chargers/titan but curious how extractions feel for 2-3 diver teams or more experienced soloists at higher difficulty.

you could do mission objectives but not whole map, you dont have time as a solo to clear everything. thats one thing. 2ndly a random 4 man team is bad vs solo sure, a good 4 man team? nah.

Plus their matchmaking sucks, i always dropped in solo and waited for my team to fill up as i played through.
Cuz waiting in lobby for me? Its either 0 people joining or i get two after half a hour.
Now they want me to waste more time cuz their MM system is broken? tnx.

Begs questions for other perks n stratagems. Why have a 30% less spot armor?
Or a perk that increases my radar range by 50m?
Both ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless now. You cant be stealth.
And whats the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ radar gonna tell me now? That im surrounded? bahahaha
Before it was used to take a sneak peak at patrols to avoid them and be tactical, now? It has no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ use.

They just removed an artificial element that was making mission easier for smaller groups. So difficulty are now the same regardless if you are solo or 4. Previously solo players had an illussion that they are doing solo the same stuff that 4 people can fail
They are really bad with communicating

Let's make it clear that a decently sized part of the marketing was about the game supporting stealth play, "just like MGS5". Today they effectively removed that feature.

We are seriously in Overwatch and Tarkov "PVE expansion" territory.

4 Players get normal waves.

1 Player gets ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with waves.
