IMO democratic detonation. When soloing, you need to be able to cover a lot of bases, and while stuff like the sickle is rightly amazing overall, it's functionally not doing anything you can't do with a liberator, whereas Democratic Detonation is giving you stuff like the Grenade Pistol and Eruptor, weapons that can actually counter completely different targets compared to the usual weapons that go in primary and secondary slots. With just those two weapons and impact grenades, you can have a counter to light and medium units in just your basic loadout, and then have a special weapon for dealing with heavies, letting you cover all threats.

I think Cutting Edge will help you a lot, since the Sickle and Dagger are energy-based laser weapons, which is effectively infinite ammo. It can get you out of many tough situations solo, assuming you are exploiting weakpoints.

so the highlights of each ones are

veterans: incendiary breaker and jar dominator
cutting edge: sickle (this one is a banger in terms of versatility)
detonation: eruptor (clunky weapon but very fun)

oh and if you haven't gotten to the scorcher on mobilize you might do that also

Highlights

Veterans:
Breaker Incendiary, since you're soloing you don't have to worry about the DoT bug, fries bugs like a champ
Dominator, high damage per shot, stunlocks mediums to death

Cutting edge:
Sickle, very accurate, high DPS, great at clearing chaff
Stun grenades, stuns everything short of a tank, makes lining up kill shots on hulks a breeze

Detonation:
Eruptor, pretty awkward, but very, very fun
Grenade pistol: gives you the means to blow up crates and fabricators/holes if you run utility grenades.

Since you like solo and have supply drop all to yourself, go detonation imo. Enjoy the grenade pistol and eruptor, both these weapons not only are decent on the field, they give you amazing fab/bughole destruction capabilities, you gonna be doing that all by yourself this will really help!

Recommend not using those 2 weapons together, better to have either slow firing main with rapid sidearm, eruptor plus redeemer go well, my bro prefers that. I like scorcher and nade pistol. You can also grab the armor for more nades, good synergy with full access to supply drop. GL out there helldiver!

Thank you a lot for your information about the highlights and functionality, i believe i will be isuing Democratic Detonation since i mostly run solo.

Thanks a lot fellow divers.

I think the senator is actually the best sidearm in the game. The grenade is my 2nd favorite.

I think you have to decide. Do you want to run a tesla build? A build that ignores ammo constraints? Do you want that juicy grenade side arm? It really does enable a lot of build variability.

Solo is certainly a consideration for looking at the fire grenade.

Not only do you get the best side arm in Steeled Veterans, you also get the literal current best all round bug hunt gun the incendiary breaker.

If you're hunting bugs Steeled Veteran is literally the best.

It also has one of the only heavy armors with servo. Servo in my mind is one of the best- all rounded loadouts for armor. It gives defense and it gives you the ability to deploy sentries in further positions from a stuck-in spot. Great for heavy armor.

Don't buy a damned thing until we see the upcoming patch notes. It's probably safe to assume that strategems aren't the only things being changed.

Agreed. The grenade pistol specifically opens up a lot of options you wouldn't otherwise have.

If you want to run a stealth build you will need the smoke nades, and the nade launcher side arm is a good way to slot that in without losing too much. Smoke the terminal and you can get so much progress before they literally walk on top of you.

I think, Cutting Edge (CE), since it has the Sickle, which is one of the best weapons in the game for both bugs and bots. It's not the strongest gun, but it's extremely handy to use.
Also CE has stun grenades which is very good against bots on higher difficulties.

There is one problem, however: if you run stun grenade and the Sickle - destroyng outposts can be a little tricky, and you would really want to have a grenade pistol from Democratic Detonation (DD) warbond. On the other hand, stratagems are enough for bot fabricators, and for bugs you don't really need stun grenades (impact performs better).

You want to have both DD and CE, having them both will give you many options.
But if you absolutely must choose one - i'd say, go for CE

If you play mostly bugs, then currently incendiary breaker is extremely powerful with no real equal. If you want both faction lean, then sickle is a safe pick.

Eruptor might be fine, but I argue that it is not a safe pick against bugs and is just a weaker autocannon on bots. Also, you are then forced to take a support weapon for trash clear to compensate. Not a be all and end all weapon by any means. Sickle fits in with almost any build, especially the standard solo builds.

Also worth noting that on bots, you NEED a way to deal with gunships on the team, and eruptor simply wont do it, and it means you would need to double up on the same type of weapon in your stratagems anyway. Solo bots can be rough now days without either AMR/autocannon/laser cannon (quasar an ok pick, but not with eruptor).

Stun grenades from cutting edge are huge, but you will need to bring an additional way to close fab/holes. classic airstrike is solid at that, or the highly versitile Auto cannon. the grenade pistol from DD really eneables the stun grenades, which in turn enable a tonne of other stuff.
