Edit: A bit of fire comes out the eyeplate if you scored a good hit.
Edit 2: With Stun grenades, although it slows you down, if you dive 2-3 times behind a hulk you stunned close up, you can take out its heatsink with most main weapons. It then starts to 'bleed out' and dies a few seconds later.
Don't know about the laser cannon since I don't like it but I think shooting it's eye is a better choice for that.
The Laser Cannon's DPS is actually the same as the Scythe (300dps), the big difference is the fire duration and the penetration.
You need to hold it on the eye for 2-3 seconds, out of a possible 10s of fire time. De-limbing takes over twice as long, which either means you have no other choice, or your aim is at a level where you should consider other weapons.
Same for autocannon
And amr
And quasar
Arc thrower kills hulks in 2-4 shots with no aiming required, it also stun locks them in place so they become no threat
The LC is kinda the opposite. If the beam is being deflected you will see light particles. If it's dealing damage you won't really see anything. Shot placement should be the same.
I only ever shoot limbs if I'm out of stun grenades and can't get a good shot on the face without dying.
