Keyboard & mouse vs controller.
I prefer playing games with keyboard and mouse, and like to have my push to talk on my side mouse button, but with this game and stratagems, how do you do it.

I do not use controller really for anything. I think one other game elden ring or whatever.

But with the up, up down down etc, For people who use keyboard and mouse how do you do it?

I mean I am using one hand to move wasd, my other hand on mouse to go in direction I want. How do you, call in anything, without stopping?

I mean it took me a bit to get used to doing that on controller, I would always stop, press up up down down, or whatever. Till I am like the reason I am using controller is so I can keep running when I have to and still call something in.

So I am curious if you do use keyboard and mouse, how do you manage to do it?

Rebind some keys? I do not know even which ones I would do.

Just a question because I would prefer to use keyboard and mouse, but I am unsure how I would do it.

I also have push to talk on my mouse thumb button
I have dive on the other thumb button
A lot of people rebind stratagem keys to arrows but I don't like it personally
I also have my primary and support weapon slots changed from "1" and "3" to "scroll up" and "scroll down" mouse wheel
It's an amazingly fluid way to "rock" back and forth between your main weapons
Pressing mouse wheel in opens my stratagem menu
If you change the setting for stratagem menu from "hold" to "press" then you will have an easier time entering codes, and also be able to throw the strat ball instantly after entering the code

Thank you I will try that out.

Most gaming mice with additional buttons have some added software nowadays, like G Hub for logitech.
I have macros buiilt in G Hub that essentially just map a mouse button to a stratagem.
I'm guessing this is allowed ...right?

Do the same with your sprint key, change it from "hold" to "press"
Your little finger can thank me later hehe

I've never seen anything from the devs that disallows macros.
Hell, I have my most frequently used Strats macro'd to not only the macro keys on my keyboard (6 of them), but also to the F1-F9 keys, for a total of 15 different Strats macro'd.
Switched Strat keys from ASWD to arrows so I can move while they're being activated.

Call in Statagems on the go = Rebind them to Arrow Keys
PTT/PTM = Alt
for Weapons i just use 1 Thump Button = Press for switching Primary / Support, Hold for Switching to Secondary
Grenades = another Thump Button
Also change the Sprint Key to Press instead of Hold
Spacebar Press = Dive, Spacebar Hold = Climb

I personally haven't set up any Macros, but using them with "VoiceAttack" seems like fun.

Pretty much exactly this :) So convenient.

Classically a KBM enthusiast... I use a xbox controller for this game.

It just works really well.

Binding stratagems to Arrow keys works fine for me - so you can call and run same time

I use KBM for this game. I like the mouse aiming especially with the FPS mode to get the far off shots. For the strategems, I just got used to WASD typing it out quick. I was streaming in a Discord channel to some friends and one thought I was using macros for the reinforcements, but I just got very quick at typing wsdaw using decades of touch typing practice.

I doubt there is a way to just do tutorial again to test this out? I guess just solo easy for now to see how I like it. But again thanks for all the responses. Was really helpful.

Hehe, I hear that!
I still have my muscle memory from hd1 and people think I'm scripting when I reinforce them because it all happens in the blink of an eye..
I'm not, it's just good old wasd
😃
I have the Logitech g600. It's one of those MMO gaming mice that has a bunch of buttons on the left side. I bound my stratagems to that so my thumb can do it while I run around.

I know not everyone has that mouse, and not everyone has the money to upgrade their mouse. But if you're able to find an MMO mouse that you like, on a good sale, I'd recommend getting it in general for gaming. The ability to put a lot of buttons you can't easily reach at your thumb is very useful.

quick question which did you use for zoom aim,?maybe I hit wrong binding, but used right mouse button, and I did aim but no cross hair. Used just anti matieral rife to try it out.

But yeah no cross hair. Going to relook at bindings, see if I just did wrong one

I can call in things so fast the stopping doesnt really hinder me at all.

WASD for arrow inputs is SO much faster than dpad or anything a controller can do.
