Exactly, it's deliberately detached from real groups that have been victims of fascism to avoid being offensive to those groups. That's why I asked OP to explain how adding a group that has been victimised by fascism would be anything other than insulting to that group.
It was explained. There is no comparison.
There's a reason people don't boycott Star Wars for the logic you have here in spite of the implication of naming them storm troopers. The second part of Dune just released and no one is rejecting the MMO because of a violent usurping regime that barely has respect for any life in the universe.
These properties are detached and do not resemble what you think they resemble.
Fun fact: In the Starship Troopers book, Rico had a great time wearing beautiful earrings in uniform.
I'm gay and I'm all for representing the LGBTQ+ community as long as it fits with the game's established lore (which this game and its predecessor does actually have), without fundamentally and forcibly changing the authors' story just to make one group happy.
I just don't see why a totalitarian society that treats its military members as expendable fodder would allow them to express their individuality in any way. Helldivers are nothing but numbers to the government. Super Earth does not promote or celebrate individuality or equality. I don't see a reason why they would make this change.
The LGBTQ+ community has not provided any reason as to why pride content would fit in the world of Super Earth. At least from what I have seen so far.
Until there's a very strong plausible reason in-game for this change and not just because some people really really really want it regardless of the intent and desires of the authors/creators/developers, I won't support it.
OP, all this kind of crap does is focus more animosity on the marginalized and push folks on the fence in the other direction by making us all look like annoying, attention-seeking fools. This ain't the place, nor the way, to foster equality, understanding, or solidarity. I'll be at the Pride Parade in ATL in October to express my joy and support for the community. Where I won't be is on Steam forums for a fun little coop game, posting obvious bait jokifying the lived experiences of real people to have 5 minutes of fake fame.
Just play the freaking game and let these people have their fun. If folks want to learn and engage with the LGBTQ+ community, there are plenty of avenues for them to do so on their own, appropriate to their comfort level.
You are only giving the folks who hate us more ammo. Shame on you.
Edit: Super Earth released a news broadcast clearly stating why they dont want to highlight gays in their military

I kinda think you may have replied to the wrong person. Go back and read my first comment again.
I don't care what you do in your bedroom, what makes you think I should be interested in that? I'm here for gaming and gaming only. Let's keep it non political and not segregated.
That means everybody.
And don't even bother to suggest that she doesn't game, because why would she buy games?
I am still waiting to be told who you are, so we know why your sexual preference was an information we needed to have and if it's beneficial to us to retain that information or the knowledge of your existence. You surely aren't just a random nobody that tells hard to believe stories on public forums?
Hopefully there's a Sexual-Liberty themed warbond to spend my medals on too.
