OP Automoton Gunships
Encountered the new Automaton Gunships and they are OP as hell. If they just had the machine guns it would be more manageable. But with the addition of rocket pods and the fact that they fly in squadrons is near impossible to survive. Add onto that the fact that they respawn so damn fast that by the time you've taken out the first squadron of gunships another one is spawning and flying right towards you. I just crashed from a mission just before typing this thread and while engaging said enemies we tried to get the Hellbomb armed at one of their gunship manufacturing facilities and just before we thought it was going off the game died on us.

Suggestions for the Gunships:
1. Decrease spawn rate
2. Either debuff the rocket pods they have equipped or remove entirely
3. Not sure if their increased elevation means they are able to track/identify us more easily than their ground forces but we got spotted a lot sooner so maybe debuff their detection range?
4. Fix Hellbombs when trying to destroy their gunship facilities

We tried arming 4 different Hellbombs and all were activated but when the countdown zeroed out nothing happened.

They’re pretty easy to take down if you work as a team. Maybe play and communicate with your team?

I've already read somewhere else on this forum that they spawn from a base on the map. So this is going to be mirroring Hunter Nests from the bug secondary missions.

Find the base, destroy it, no more gunships.

AMR can also take them down shooting the engine.

We were. The problem was they were spawning faster than we could keep up in taking them down. That's the whole point here.

One shot them with the Spear.

We were. The problem was they were spawning faster than we could keep up in taking them down. That's the whole point here.

Just like Shrieker nests, the hunter killers have a fabricator you can destroy. Find it, take it out.

I hit those directly with the Recoil-less Rifle and it was still flying. We only had one Diver with the Quasar at the time and he was doing his best to shoot them down but the rest of us were getting swarmed by ground troops and the rocket barrages weren't helping.
Most base skill issue. Just shoot them. EATs are free right now, spam it out.

the Spear also has no issue with locking onto them.
that thing is tailor made to take down those gunships

Again, hard to deal with the gunships when Hulk Busters and tanks are dropping in non stop.

Haven't used it yet. Does it have splash damage or does it only affect one target at a time?

It has some splash, since i saw 3 kills when i took out a hilk with one.
but since it only locks on to the biggest enemies (like Hulks, Tanks, SAM sites, Artillery emplacements, Gun Towers, Dropships, and now gunships) i can't tell you how big that splash damage is.

Bring rocket sentry and autocannon sentry. I only saw two of them at the same time and it take like 1 minute to spawn a new one I guess? Not too much a trouble get close to the base

Or you know... Use the expendable anti tank stratagem strangely given for free to every Diver at exactly the same time those hunters have appeared..?
