Arc Thrower needed a nerf and will still be amazing (+1k kills).
People complaining about the Arc Thrower nerf really need to get off the cope train, the weapon was ridiculously OP and will still be one of the better weapons against bugs even with the range reduction.

Having a weapon which doesn't need ammo, can hit multiple enemies, was able to be snap shot, could kill packs before they even noticed you and would kill every bug enemy besides Bile Titans with ease isn't good for the game or load out choice.

Having used the Arc Thrower for probably +50 hours of gameplay, pretty much every bug mission looked like this:

My opinion is this patch makes it doing its job better against medium enemy(increased stagger power) while less efficient against chargers(reduced fire rate).

No it didn't need nerfed as it was one of the few weapons that were actually enjoyable to use something the devs hate for some reason as they go out of their way to take away anything that is fun.

Not tried it yet but I've seen a few posts saying that the stagger now applies to Chargers, which is a pretty big buff and should make up for the lower fire rate, though it is going to make mowing down large packs harder.

Imagine enjoying the arc-thrower only because the charge time was bugged and made it possible to fire faster than intended and not even seeing how having stagger on the shots compensate for that?

Are the devs in the room with you now?

As I said, there's no justification for a weapon to have unlimited ammo, multi-targeting and be so strong. Standing next to a breech and mowing down everything that comes out of it solo might be 'fun', but it's also not good for game balance when it's so easy to do and the other option is "buff other weapons to also be able to trivialise the game".

My opinion is the rapid-fire was an unintended bug that got patched. The stagger buff is a pretty good buff for the loss of range.

On one hand true. On the other hand, there is no universe where you get 1000 kills without sabotaging the team by attacking everything.

Definitely a bug and made the weapon much better.

I ran around solo, mostly doing all of the points of interest for medals/credits and any objectives I found, also farming samples for lower level mates.

I 100% shot everything I saw and tried to get breeches on me rather than them, wouldn't say it's sabotage when the Arc Thrower made them so easy to deal with (using an orbital occasionally).

It's pretty consistent to get +500 kills even staying with team mates.

I've used the AT a lot. Never even come close to 1k kills. But hey, looks totally legit with that 10 shots fired. Something here looks fishy...

I think it's more of a buff than a nerf, the added stagger far outweight the decrease in range and need for a full charge to fire.

It's still currently amazing against both bugs and bots, even with the fire rate being fixed, and the reduced range is hardly felt. The arc thrower currently stunlocks hulks and can kill them in like 5-10 shots depending on if the arc hits the head just right. The stagger is bound to be nerfed somewhat considering how it turns hulks into a joke right now.

I have my doubts too, but the Arc Thrower explicitly didn't count shots in the past. The fix should even be in the changelog of february I think.

Under what circumstances did your game spawn 1,749 enemies? In helldives, my mates and I typically don't even break 1k between all of us.
