How much does Power Steering help?
I'm currently 20 or samples away from grabbing it, but I am curious how much it will help. I finally completed a full operation on Helldive solo, but I almost didn't make it. I know the real trick is to just not die, but when it happens, the game keeps reinforcing me right into the middle of the pack I was running away from.

Sometimes it feels like I can't even steer the pod. The game just sends me straight down and no directional inputs want to work.

For those that have unlocked it, how much does help? I'm trying to avoid getting in a loop. Especially when 9/10 times I am trying to flee any way just to be thrown right into the center of the pack.

The steering won't help if you get the bug, but otherwise it's incredibly noticeable and imo a must.

It's not a bug, the dev just straight up took away your ability to steer your pod when it's close to a mountain or other tall structure to combat people that abuse this feature to get on high grounds.

It's very stupid and they need to change it because right now, steering is complete garbage. They need to stop worrying about a few abusing it and punish the masses that don't and just wanna safely get out of the danger zone or strategic landing on enemy, both of which does not work well right now.

I love to steer myself onto a Tank or Hulk and destroy them instantly.
Awesome way to flex your skill.

Oh is the inability to steer sometimes a bug? It always seems to happen after several immediate deaths that I figured the game was punishing me for some reason. :WH3_greasus_rofl:

Thanks for the feedback. I'll do my best to make sure to survive and bring back samples for Democracy.

Oh! Thanks for this information. That actually might help me out in trying to avoid issues.

Yeah, you can move pretty far if you don't get stuck. It's a "known issue" in their patch notes, so hopefully it's going to be addressed.

it helps quite a bit, but not world changing.

there are more important things, like the skills to fight against 2 patrols at once by yourself, that would certainly help in the game

but in the case of spending samples, yeah go get it. it has reduced value though, since the game does not allow you to steer into certain cliffs and structures
it helps A LOT. its a giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difference. though i did get it last. you can pretty much turn on a dime if the map geography doesnt prevent you from "going there"

It was Godsend until the dev decided to shadow nerf and remove the steering out of it....
Now it's bloody useless and frustrating to use.

I was quite upset with myself to have slept on the Powered Steering until my last unlock, but equally i find it hard recommending picking it over something else.

It depends on how much you value mobility and your ability to land drop pods on things.

It is literally listed as a known issue (bug):
https://steamcommunity.com/games/553850/announcements/detail/4141695629538335800?snr=2___

Hellpod steering close to large or important objects is currently not functioning as intended, resulting in steering being disabled in a large area around the object.

How do you get off claiming it is not a bug, when it's literally listed as one? What Tinfoil hat nonsense is this?

Not being able to steer onto cliffs is an intended feature, if I read that note correctly. The unintended part is that the area of denial is too big.

I've had my pod control revoked on a plain, probably just for a few rocks, lovely upgrade when it works though. You get to be a precision strike as you deploy.
Fingeris Apr 1, 2024 @ 11:45pm
Well, it offers great mobility to either precisely land on enemies or as far as possible from them.

Nice QoL addition :dslike:

No bug, can't steer on certain objectives and structures that would give you unfair height advantage/unreachable place for enemies.

That being said, it is very noticeable, still I would save it for last upgrade.

Not what I'm talking about you brainlet, ever since release the game will randomly take away Steering no matter where you are trying to go, you can be in an empty field and it will forcibly pull you into a direction.
