I have 2 mics, a wired one i love, an ancient green turtle beach and a wireless one that is just ok.
However, recently I play at a time when my spouse is usually asleep or getting ready for bed. And I am not an ass hat who has no consideration for others.
Not that any of this is really any of your business, but hey, since you had such a nice helpful comment, I figured I would share.
Also as a bonus, without a mic I don't have to talk to folks like you while I am trying to have fun.
Thanks everyone, except for this guy.
Any game I've been in with random mic users is predominantly children in the background screaming, the vibration on their controller, or mouth breathing.
When they choose to talk. It's clear they must have one of the edible mics you never hear about. If it were any keeping inside of them it would be on the hub as some kind of asmr fetish thing.
This game is vastly superior without mics
As with literally any other game ever made - it's more than possible to play without a microphone.
A mic has always been a very optional thing for gaming, this game being no exception.
Since it's set by default to always transmit and not push to talk or disabled, it's a situation where I find myself muting anyone using voice chat since the vast majority of them are chewing, coughing, being yelled at, watching television, or just transmitting all their game sounds over my own game sounds.
In short, voice chat is more of a hindrance in this game than a help. This is true of just about any game that defaults to always on microphone.
Disable crossplay x2
literally only an issue with ps5 players.
There's a communication wheel for quick tagging what your crosshair is over or voice replies. There's also text chat if required.
All my online missions have been quickplay with randoms. Maybe only 10% of them someone has a microphone (probably way less). And even then it's 50/50 if it adds anything. Then you end up with the folks that seem oblivious that the game is transmitting their mic.
I say, get the game, don't worry about the mic as it is not required.
