Is this an April Fool's joke, a glitch, or something else?

I just did a quick solo mission to take part in the MO, and there was a constant stream of bot drops. I mean it literally never ended - at one point there were at least 5 of them in the sky at one point, and it never stopped the whole time. Needless to say, I failed the mission, hard.

If it's an April Fool's joke then it was admittedly pretty funny - until it wasn't, and I was two steps away from hurling my PC out the nearest window.

It was the third option, but I've done plenty of those in the past and never seen this happen!

There are two evacuate missions, one has a sub objective, and the other does not.

The one with no sub objective is overturned to drop unlimited bots at a silly rate.

I guess that's what it is and I've just never run into it before. It was absurd.
