What´s the point of the new heavy machine gun?

isnt it basically the regular one but with way more spread and , for some reason, not being able to know where you are aiming unless you are in first person? armor piercing seems to be the same and ammo capacity too, feels like another diligence vs counter sniper scenario with one being just straight up worst than the other despite being an "upgraded" version.

Armor which give you 30% less spread do exist.

Otherwise I can't really say. Machine guns normally perform better against bugs and I thus never used them outside of when I started playing this game and I had nothing better to bring with me.

Tried it against bots and it's pretty good. You can kill a hulk with 6 headshots and a strider from the front. It requires more to get working, but it pays off. Tho I won't use it against bugs

Meanwhile I still use the railgun against bots and I can potentially destroy an hulk frontal with a single shot.

This is a gun which use volume of fire to achieve anything. People keep saying there isn't enough ammo for it... So...

use first person mode, kneel or lie down.
tap the mouse only for a second max, watch lots of shots go there.
it destroys most bugs (can penetrate charger armor), and all bots (yes even walkers from front) (even tanks, on the weakspot)

it's a good weapon.
lacks a bit of ammo tho, but is pretty neat
i use it regularly on difficulty 7 and 8

I actually use it against bugs and it works very well because the bugs for the most part don't shoot back at you. It literally deletes brood commanders, bile spewers, etc.

Its like the anti material rifle had a baby with the laser cannon. Its a gun that shoots a beam of armor piercing lead. Threat it like the world's fattest rifle. Set it to the highest speed and each shot is 5 bullets in one shot.

Does it lock you down on the reload like the MG?
