Calling down an emplacement just to take out a gunship doesn't seem all that practical in most situations. Maybe if it's mounted on a vehicle.
The exact same critique can be applied to the HMG emplacement. And oddly enough, it's in the game despite all of its shortcomings.
Although, a Halo warthog with an AA-platform attached to it sounds... enticing.
I meant something that shoots bullets, or better yet, 30 mm shells.
Something that can take out those pesky dropships and soon to be released gunships!
RGGHHH!
And you can't turn it towards the sky. I think it's like 45 degrees, which isn't enough.
You can drastically shorten the time it takes to reload the weapon if your buddy equips the backpack and reloads it for you. The reload will take like 0.5-1 seconds this way.
With such a short reload time you can in theory, and in practice, shoot down every dropship that comes your way.
It is a great idea!
Anti-air weapons need to be a thing now :-)
Also I'm pretty sure the current twin-HMG emplacement can index upward decently far.
