Are Cutting Edge weapons are trash?
I'm trying to figure out if Cutting Edge weapons are all trash?
I've collected all of them and feel that I've wasted my super credits.
Am i missing something?

Sickle is one of the best weapons in game

i definitely wouldn't sleep on its aoe, it's not a grenade but it's still big enough that you can oneshot groups of scout striders, also killing tanks and "giga turrets" is more forgiving compared to the scorcher

But, I have an Autocannon for that. What I need my primary to do is clear trash. It's why I switched from the Slugger to the Sickle; the rapid fire is just way better at clearing out squads of raiders quickly and reliably. For everything else, I have Autocannon. Plus I don't have to worry about the Plasma Shotgun's arc trajectory, or its slow moving projectile; I don't need to solve a trigonometry problem on the fly to hit a moving target's center of mass.

Scout Walkers? Autocannon.

Devastators? Autocannon.

Hulks? Autocannon + Stun Grenade to face, or just mag dump the rear vent.

Tanks? Autocannon to the rear vent, or Orbital Railgun in an emergency.

AA or Mortar Turret? Autocannon to the rear vent, or Hellbomb.

Tower Turret? Autocannon to the rear vent, or Orbital Railgun if it has you pegged.

Fabricator? Autocannon bank shot off the vent cover, preferably from 150+ meters away.

Dropship? Pepper the underside with a few rounds, will maim or kill everything not a Tank.

Berserkers? Autocannon to stagger/kill them when your Sickle needs to cool down.

Laser pistol sucks hard against any enemies

Plasma shotgun is meh as it handle like a grenade launcher but with the range of a thrown grenade

Sickle is considered meta

Stun nades are great support tools to lock enemies in an airstrike (all but the bot tank gets stunned by it) or non lethaly save any ally tailed by a hulk, granted be carefull as it will slwo them like if hit by a hunter and drai ntheir entire stam bar

Idk what everyone is on, Sickle is useful for clearing a few unarmored units but absolutely useless against armored units.

Depends. The heads of Devastators are vulnerable to it. So if you have the right angle, are relatively close (<30m) and there is sufficient cover between you and your target, you can pretty reliably hose down the head of a Devastator with a Sickle and kill them.

Sickle is very accessible, easy to use, and performs very well. The Plasma Shotty has its quirks but it has a bunch of benefits. (It solos Chargers quite easily for example which few primary weapons can do)

The arc blitzer shot gun is very so-so given its unreliable damage output and slow fire rate. I've heard the laser pistol is trash but Ive never even bothered equiping it because I don't really like the beam energy weapons to begin with.

Plasma Shotgun for indirect fire vs Automatons, best bring supply backpack and a generalized support weapon. Tesla Shotgun for scoot and shoot/Run and Gun CQB multi target crowd control vs bugs, I believe it does more damage if your target is isolated (all arcs hit 1 target).

ASSUMING the shot actually connects. Which is very much not guaranteed, because it's working off the same black magic as the Arc Thrower, and the lightning chain is temperamental as F*CK.

I tried it, it was okay. Still use the Arc Thrower for bugs, because then you have the range buffer so that when a shot fails to connect 5 times in a row, you're hopefully not completely boned (unless it's Hunters, then you are 1,000% boned).

For bots? Autocannon. It handles literally everything from Scout Walkers up, and can do so at considerable distances. If the Arc weapons are the poster child for unreliable weapons, the Autocannon is their antithesis; a paragon of getting work done reliably.

I'm not talking about the Arc Shotgun, that thing's trash, I'm talkin'bout the one that lobs plasma like a plasma grenade launcher jr.

Sickle is cool tho, a worthy alternative to the Defender...unlike the Lib series.
Valkynaz Mar 29, 2024 @ 9:54pm
Sickle is basically just an upgraded Liberator with a spool up time, 0 pen (So it'll not go through brush... which I HATE and is my only complaint on the gun), the Dagger... garbage, like the Scythe is clearly needs a buff outside of niche uses (Like minesweeping or detonating explosive barrels for "free"), the Plasma Shotgun takes some getting used to, but it isn't half bad... Same deal with the Arc Shotgun, takes some getting used to.

TL;DR Sickle and Flashbang are S tier, Plasma and Arc Shotguns are probably high B or low A could easily be A with some small buffs (Please increase the Arc Shotguns RoF, pocket swapping helps a little bit but my god), Dagger is straight F

Sickle has the oomph I expected Laser Cannon to have. It's liberator but infinite ammo. Give this to the Liberator guard dog, please.

Plasma Punisher is unique among primaries. You don't get any other primary weapons that can kill an enemy while both you and the enemy are behind cover. It stuns trains of marauders and devestators, you can one-tap striders l, or kill multiple striders in a couple of shots by aiming for the ground. You can bombard enemies over mountains, and you can kill hunters without triggering their dodge because you don't need to aim at them. It's a difficult weapon to use, and I wouldn't recommend it for solo bugs. Having teammates as distraction and cover fire helps overcome it's reliability issues a lot.

Arc Blitzer is decent. It hits a lot of enemies and kills about anything in a few shots, stunning them each time. Fire it, run away, fire again. Good for creating distance between you and a bunch of melee enemies.

None of the above options will outperform Scorcher for quickly killing almost any small groups of enemies quickly. Only Scorcher and Breaker fills the role of being a one-man army at short-to-medium distance as long as you can keep the ammunition flowing.

Stun Grenades enables a lot of things that were previously hard to use. You can reload a machine gun while swarmed by hunters. You can calmly tap hulks in the face. You can carefully aim a supply drop on a charger. Excellent option.

Dagger exists, unfortunately.

Don't forget about the localization booster. It's nice.
DarkFenix Mar 29, 2024 @ 10:24pm
Sickle is great, stun grenade is great, the booster has its uses, electric-resistant armour has its niche uses, everything else is utter trash.

Sickle is outstanding, the Punisher Plasma is a good option for bugs, and the Blitzer is kinda crap.
