We r talking abt the stationary HMG right?
I dunno but the hmg does have a rectile in 3rd person for me, the same way u get a rectile on normal weapons...hold down rmb?
Basically both the other MGs are automatically better, and there are many other weapons such as arc thrower and auto-cannon, not to mention the other heavy weapon that came today, the vortex cannon.
I tried it and while it is able to take on medium armor its not worth it. Fighting the automatons I ended up having to engage at close ranges, I lowered rpm to minimum to try to preserve ammo, and I still wasted so much it was just sad. Both the other MGs have reticles. It makes no sense for this one not to have it.
As it is its just a toy, and one I wouldn't even bring along just for fun. If it gets a reticule that will change, but for now its a slight fail. Sorry.
Standard MG does, Autocannon does, Stalwart does, plenty of "heavy weapons" do have 3rd person reticle so no idea what you're talking about.
Normal humans. 15 minutes of training.
it does.
depending on the fire mode you select (hold R, 450, 900 or 1200 RPM ) it either feels/sounds like a US Army .50 cal HMG or an MG 42.
I'd guess they are militia guys who volunteer for Helldiver training and are then put through that 15 minute obstacle, patriotic kill bugs course, or civilians that are given a few months basic training first, then the obstacle, patriotic kill bugs course.
Either way, most civilians wouldn't be able to run roughly 5 miles in 40 minutes and still constantly use weapons proficiently, especially without being fatigued and breathless. Consider how fit your guy/gal is if she survives the entire mission and still have energy for a fist-bump.
Then again, I probably shouldn't try to apply reason to the Helldiver universe too hard..
I think it's less Super Soldiers and more Rule of Cool.
All of the propaganda, including the tutorial, is them taking in whatever civilians they can get to volunteer. There's nothing super about any of them, outside of their dedication to "freedom" and love of "democracy".
How come being dropped to the planet's surface in a hypersonic reentry pod doesn't snap the back of every helldiver? Cause helldiving is cool, stop asking questions.
How do they lug around a supply pack filled with thousands of rounds of ammunition, with dozens of grenades and medical supplies? Don't worry about it.
How come a civilization capable of FTL travel on such a small vessel is shooting people at the surface of a planet to go fight mano-a-mano with projectile machine guns and explosive grenades? Cause we all love stupid 80's action movies.
