Weapon ideas
Gimme your weapon ideas, I wanna see what everyone's got in their head.

I'll start:
A BFG type weapon. Something with very limited uses per mission, for when you absolutely wanna delete whatever's in front of you.

melee, two kinds, kinda like the sniper,
one as a secondary, instead of a pistol a combat knife/sabre/sword/tactical shovel/leg of a bug, no ammo, endless use, but, obviously short range,
and one as a support weapon, think the grav hammer or plasma sword from halo. or a massive zweihänder.

Backpack loaded disc-mine launcher. you know you want it.

Bolt-action anti armour rifle, iron-sights only. good accuracy and damage, very low rate of fire.

"Sonic boom" shotgun, low range but huge knock-back., guaranteed ragdoll + broken head when it hits another helldiver.

1. A retrieval bot.

Basically, if I die, I can send it to fly to where my dropped support weapon or equipment is and picked it up to pass to me while I run to another spot.

2. An exoskeleton.

If I wear it, it make me run faster and deal stronger melee attack.

3. A plasma cutter.

Similar to a light saber but longer and more staff-like.

4. A contaminator weapon.

Something like what the desolator in Red Alert 2 carried.

It's a weapon that shoots a ray that infects and dissolves the target from within.

When pumped into the ground, it cause the ground around the user to become toxic.

Suppressed weapons of any kind
Melee weapon secondaries
Loader backpack - doesn't add ammo, just removes need to reload

I'd say that they work on improving the weapons they already have in game. This whole discussion would be moot if most of the weapons in the game actually felt more powerful than a pea-shooter.
Besides that point, I would like to see a laser pistol that shoots out a fan-shaped beam that slices everything within that field in half.
I also thought a backpack with a spring loaded launching system that deploys a coil of barb/razor wire behind you as you are running. This will primarily act like the existing barb wire in the game by slowing enemies walking through it.
On a side note, I'd also like to see more environmental accessibility in allowing us to pick up more items in game:
For example, I'd love to be able to pick a poof-ball plant and lob it at the enemies since it seems to have more blast power than most of our weapons. I'd also like to be able to take a jump pack from a robot (head-shotted of course) and use it a couple of times before it ran out of fuel (which would be better than our model as well since it also performs way better than what we have). Or hop into an undamaged strider and use it for a short time.
Hell at this point, I'd settle for a duct-tape stratagem that would allow me to pick various plants and tape them to my body so I get some decent armor protection...

Description: The G-99 Scent grenade is a grenade specifically designed against the terminids. The grenade ejects a strond chemical that overloads the enemys senses permanently stunning them/turns them against their own kind.

Grenade number 2:

S-3 Recoder

Damage:0

Penetration:6

Radius:10m

Fuse time:1.5 sec

Description: The S-3 Recoder is a utility item designed specifically against the automatons. The recoder emites a strong electric pulse that recodes enemy automatons to, overload their systems permanently disable them/turn them against other automatons/ forcing them to run at other automatons and self destruc damaging them.

I'd like to see either a new flamethrower or an upgrade to the current flamethrower that makes it shoot napalm. The current options all look like old WWI style flamethrowers that shot gasoline. I want something like the American M2 from WWII and Vietnam. Ideally, it should have 2-3 times the range of current flamethrowers, have a smaller spread, and a droplet effect where anything under the stream gets drizzled with spicy juice. I'd also like a good sticking effect where the napalm stays on the target and staggers them instead of just a short fire effect. It would also be nice if this could clear bugholes and bot fabricators like how they were used for pillbox clearing in WWII. I get that this would be overpowered, but I think it could be balanced by requiring a backpack and having very limited fuel, maybe 10-15 seconds (the real life M2 only had 7 seconds). This would make the flamethrower more specialized for specific tasks, but far more useful for those tasks. Having just played around with the new Freedom's Flame pack, I am finding the flamethrowers pretty generic and boring. The only game I've ever played that really got them right was CoD World at War. I think what most games (including HD2) get wrong is that they have this nice big cloud of flame that burns and drifts away right out of the barrel. This is what early flamethrowers did and why they weren't heavily adopted until the invention of napalm. Napalm flamethrowers have a much more concentrated stream that falls in an arc and coats the ground all the way from the user to the target. HD2 is such a perfect place to have a flamethrower (super evil government sending desensitized soldiers against hordes of unthinking bugs, I mean come on) and yet it just falls so flat.

Wind Cannon. give enemy a taste of it own medicine. the gun is a stratagem support heavy weapon that once charged you can blow thing up and ragdolling them 30 meter into the air, causing it to fall down and receive fall damage to dead. it should work with anything that have legs and not Bile titan or Factory Strinder and tank

oh I know, Bring back the flamethrower, the one that is fun to use
Laser sentry as deployable stratagem, to prioritize gunships.

Change Purifier to shoot when clicked, not be a charge up.

Secondary Crossbow that is silent, and can one-shot the small enemy.

The Constitution rifle with a bayonet. +2% xp for the glory of using this

Glue grenade, - like fire grenade, but have the flame be yellow, do no damage, but prevent the enemy from running or jumping

Harpoon with anchor chain, to prevent enemy from running or jumping.

Acid spray gun or grenade to damage armor.

Offhand weapon when using one handed weapon. Now you can equip the riot shield, why not a machette instead, or a vorpal sword, or an a diamond drill, or another pistol
