Except the AMR does that better with more room for error. Two shots will kill a Hulk if its to the visor. If you miss a couple, no big deal, you've got a whole magazine. Calm down and try again.
In fact, other than the Autocannon, the AMR is the single best support weapon against bots. It can handle everything up to walkers, and can handle Hulks if you're a good shot. Granted it's poop against tanks or heavy emplacements, so it's good to have someone rock the proper gear for that. After its nerf, I'd say the railgun is honestly just a preference gun at this point. It does nothing better than any other proper tool for the same situation.
But it's still okay against Husks and Devastators for bots or Chargers and Spitters for bugs.
But yeah, after the nerf you kinda don't need it over AMR or EAT most of the time.
Close but not quite, I still think they overdone the nerf with the nerf to unsafe damage too.
Because now, if you see a Titan or a Tank, RG is almost useless, which is not very AT of it.
But, ive taken it against Bots for the sole purpose of shooting the visors and hoping for a kill, but for some reason that just doesnt seem to be the case :/ even on Bugs, shoot the leg plate of a charger until it falls off, but a Flamer will kill a charger by focusing a leg much quicker, not to mention an EAT to the face (which when i try to replicate with the Recoiless, just doesnt work)
A 'safe' railgun feels like a worse Slugger, lol and 'unsafe' doesnt really do much beyond killing a few select things (in my experience anyway) so it feels like its missing something
Also they're wrong anyway. The AMR is an equally great pick against bots. It deals with everything up to Hulks. But yeah it's good to have someone rock the cannon for heavy emplacements.
No one is saying that.
Selecting the rail gun for anti armor is like selecting the AMR for horde clear...
Can you clear hordes with AMR? Sure, why not.
Is it going to be an effective tool for clearing hordes?
No, absolutely not.
Is it a choice? Yes. The worst of all possible options.
Does that make it balanced?
No. That makes it useless.
As you watch this game die, remember that it was your grand victory against the windmill dragon you created and labeled "Meta Slave" for using equipment you didn't like that killed it.
Though, you're probably a sicko that doesn't really care if they have a positive or negative effect on the world around them as long as they have an effect, so I guess that might just enhance your enjoyment of hurting others.
