I'm a bit confused about the point of that bundle.

• Apparently the "DLC" can only be bought when buying the game.
  
• The are pretty negative reviews of the DLC, but maybe only if one gets it after a certain point in the game?

Is it worth it?

You can buy the DLC at any point after buying the game, Steam bundles won't force you to buy something you already own, the bundle is 20 USD after getting the game.

I don't own the DLC myself but I can say that the "Steeled Veterans" warbond can be bought with Super Credits in-game, these are the premium currency that you can also earn plenty of in-game. I bought the warbond after about 40 hours (including time spent AFK and in queue times.)
I recall hearing that the armor in the DLC is functionally identical to an armor you can get for free, but it does look much better.

noone can tell you if its worth for you ^^, thats something you need to decide for yourself

as i personaly don't have this dlc, some others may have another opinion
but i don't think the gear is worth it.
the warbond included can be very easily farmed ingame, but will get you access to it more early (don't think thats needed, but hey)

the ingame titel and the minigame is left .. i personaly don't care for those .. but some do

It's a rip off because it's thematic.

It's more of a supporter pack than an actual DLC. You get a free premium pass that is worth 1000 super credits, super citizen title, one weapon that isn't that amazing, cool looking armor that has the same effect as free armors that you can obtain normally and a minigame at your starship.

took me 2 hours solo farming in and out quick just grab meds and super creds and quit mission for 1k. So id say pretty easy to not pay for warbonds, strat hero tho

The only things it gives you that are unobtainable otherwise, as far as i'm aware, are the Knight SMG and the "Super Citizen" title.

Like others have said, the majority of the content it gives you can be purchased with 1,000 super credits (10USD or your equivalent), which can just be obtained by playing the game normally. You can even farm it quickly if you want to cheese a bit. There's methods for that on youtube and on here.
