Helldivers can't balance out CPU and GPU ussage
So I have an AMD ryzen 5 5600x and a MSI Suprim RTX 3070 and i play on a 1440P monitor.
When I tune the graphics settings lieterally NOTHING changes in FPS. Only when I change the render resolution something slightly changes.
I currently have pre-set ultra settings on 1440P and render resolution on ultra quality (1 under native). When i play the game i get 80% CPU ussage and 81% GPU ussage.
Sometimes the CPU takes advantage and sometImes the GPU does.
Most of the game i hit 50 to 65FPS. So I looked around and noticed steam background whatever can drain the game. So I fixed that, hit 80FPS average but when i boot the game again it went back to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 50fps.

This game is so incredibly bi-polar its really pissing me off. I dont know what to do with my PC anymore because all i can conclude is that the game is poorly optimized.

I even read that you might have to go to 1080P and turn on SS but that didnt change shi-.
WHATEVER I DO, EVEN if the GPU is at 92% and the CPU at 40% i cant get above 60fps and i've already tuned setting in NVIDEA control panel.

Does anyone know wtf is going on with this game.

Make sure the framelimiter is disabled in the game and in your drivers. Using supersampling in any context is not going to net your more FPS.

1080p native should give you a little moe performance over 1440p at ultra qualitty scaling.

There should be a drastic difference in low vs ultra graphics settings.

You could try to use DX11. Add --use-d3d11 to you stream launch settings.

I would suggest 1080p medium settings for a solid 60 - 80 FPS. Your CPU may struggle to push more frames than this.

Seems like you have no idea how the CPU load works.
A 5600X should be able to run Helldivers 2 with ~150FPS.

In other words you have a GPU bottleneck, your GPU is too weak.

Mixing AMD with Nvidia is never good. I'd go for Bottleneck as well. Buying a 6800 would have made more sense

I've got same gpu 3070 but a bit better cpu 5800x3d. This cpu keeps me gpu bound. 3070 is always at 98-99%

This chip is still am4 too so if you see a good deal on one it was a nice upgrade for me from my 3800x.

Getting 100ish fps depending. In calm like 110 in sh1tshow mode lvl 9 it's closer to 80 but never really stutters.

1440. Low-med settings. Trying out ultra quality scaling now but haven't been using it.

Same setup here. RTX3070 with a 5800X3D and I'm seeing about the same performance.

Seems 220-230fps is about the max fps the 5800X3D can muster at 640x480 on Low (GPU load was about 40%).

everyone here is dump af, i have a 5600x too and a 3060ti and every game but this garbage runs quite well, this game's performance sucks ass and especially in 7+ diffs where there are a lot of enemies. very poor optimization for the trash graphics it offers and devs better fix it soon else problems are going to get bigger patch by patch.
for the record im playing on 60-80 fps in 7+ diffs in ultra quality and med settings

might be a weird advice, but the guide i used to stabilize my fps made me put the resolution at native instead of the upscaller preset it auto picked. give it a try

If only that was how computers worked.

Yup, I can play Cyberpunk with better frames than HD2 AND it would look better, something is very wrong with HD2

Lmao I havr a 5800x3f and 4090....this game has trash performance. During 7+ missions I'm dropping to 40-60 fps at 4k and 1440p somehow.
Supa Mar 29, 2024 @ 2:38am
Okay. Now give me a game that gets 100% CPU usage.

If your GPU usage is below 100% then it's on your CPU. But also, DX12 allows your GPU to do some CPU math so it's recommended to have some headroom.

That's weird, on my 5600x with a RTX 3070 in 1440p i never drop below 90 FPS. Maybe check your temps?

I'm betting both of my testicles on you lying. Record a multiplayer fight and send it to Youtube if you would like to prove yourself right.

If you are expecting more than 60FPS at resolutions above 1080p in 2024 and you don't own the latest and most expensive set-up I have bad news for you. Games are no longer optimized well.

go play a level 7 mission and record your fps...not just your fps on the ship.
