Because the default voice setting is "Random".

Which is because every time you respawn, it's canonically a new recruit, fresh out of basic training.

Because the Default is a randomized voice, since you do not have a "Character" in that fashion. You have a Destroyer and a Crew... full of hundreds of Helldivers, men and women. When you die in the game a new Helldiver is sent down.. your character does not respawn, it is a new person.

Once you hit the ship you can change the random voice to a preferred male or female voice if you want to.

There are no male or female body types. There is lean and forgot what the other one is called. Lean body doesn't mean female body and the other one doesn't mean male body. Underneath the armor you wouldn't see who is what anyway.

Yes, the "lean" body type has a clearly female shape if you look at the side profile. It's easy to recognize even through the armor.

voice is randomized each life. They have 2 male and 2 female. You can pick body type and voice to be static after tutorial. My guess is the devs just found the idea funny for a woman to be ecstatic about boot camp. I'd imagine 95% of the playerbase dies to the auto-turrets in the tutorial, which makes that enthusiasm pretty funny.

Male and female characters models appear to be defined and differ significantly, as does the pitch of their voices. I'm not really sure what your statement means, @Amaranth.

The real explanation for the answer to the question is that male vs female is served at random on the first boot of the game. You can change the male and female characteristics within your ship.
