What are some of the meta weapons of the game?

I'm only level 5 and use a marksman rifle. I think it's pretty good.

There are none, ballance patches every week keeps nerfing the current best guns. Whatever we say now will be nerfed before you're high enough to unlock them.

Breaker and Breaker Incendiary primary
Grenade launcher and Quassar cannon (Maybe a little less now) support

Eagle 500KG / AirStrike and Orbital Railcannon/Laser as offensive stratagems

Rover / Shield most commonly picked as backpack (if not using a support weapon with backpack), I prefer Jumppack/Supplypack for some missions tbh

These are quite common picks, I'm not a fan of putting things as "meta" if it comes to required loadouts, but for some missions having certain types of weapons along makes all the difference, these will be common/safe picks for most occasions.
Dont get told what to use though, enjoy the game how you want

Any meta weapon will get nerfed into oblivion before you can unlock it.

My best advice is to try every gun you get against both Bugs and Bots and decide for yourself.
There are guns who are bad against bots and good against bugs and vice versa.

The standard Liberator for example is good in all difficultys and can be easaly complimented with a good secondary to cover it's weaknesses.

Same goes for the Strategems.
If you want a good generalist Strategem which is never bad (but has counterparts who perform better in certain areas), is the Eagle Airstrike. The Rocket Strafe.
Probably the best all rounder Strategem in the game.

Honestly I don't want to demand anything, just wanted to make my message clear before because it really mattered to me. Nerfs aren't really high up there in my book. Not a fan, but I work around for the most part.

well i can tell you my fav set of weapons that is run. las 16 -Sickle great for crowd control it's a light machine gun for how it's effective, you don't need ammo too it feels like the perfect weapon. I used to rock the slugger and the smg defender, the last was is nice to pair up with a ballistic shield.

secondary either i either use the redeemer to run away and shoot blindly or i i use the grenade pistol it's okish good for bugholes and fabricators if you want to save on grenades.

Speaking of wich grenades; impacts are my go to, but incendiary are great way to create choke points, stun also are great if you want to "ZA WARUDOOO" them out of existence
