Difference between napalm and toxic cloud strikes?
I saw that napalm benefits from several ship upgrades, so does that make it better? I dont really see any difference in their uses so bonus damage and extra missiles makes it seem like napalm would be better in all circumstances.

Napalm, dot effect, sticks to enemies, minor slow+minor explosive damage (Can destroy bug holes.) and constant DOT

Gas, area based, doesn't stick, DOT in the area, fast damaging, still slower than fire, short cool down, direct impact, not random diagnol line based on direction of destroyer.

I tend to feel napalm is stronger than gas. It still does damage when it first lands with a decent size fired ground radius.

The gas I like because it has a quick cool down, but I do feel it could be a bit stronger for having such a small area of effect.

Napalm makes a long rectangle vs the gas strike being a very large circle.

Gas also lingers longer than napalm fire does and can affect things that aren't normally affected by fire damage on the ground. (Tanks, bile titans, shriekers, gunships)

Its basically a trade off of power vs utility/range of coverage in the end.

Something that isn't often brought up is that napalm is an eagle strike, gas is orbital. Meaning if you are bringing another eagle, such as 500kg, you aren't waiting on a shared cool down if you bring napalm as well.

Both are what I would personally consider completely useless.

Just saying.
Gas can also kill fliers due to its large vertical area. It's not very good at it, but it technically still can.

Sounds like a skill issue. Both can kill 50+ enemies with a single throw. Just saying.

Useless, as long as the dot bug is not fixed. Probably OP, when its fixed.

Toxic clould is what you can usually see on steam forums, it's quite effective here but doesn't do much in the game unlike napalm strikes

I casually do that with other stratagems. I fail to see your point.

damage on the ground, damage over time to enemies. Gas is just damage over time while they're in the cloud. Gas doesn't seem as good usually. I routinely see enemies just walk right out of it.

Gas has the much greater potential for accidentals :)
wait, that's not a + ...
Gas blocks vision for those of your team who aren't dieing in it.

Jokes aside, Gas is easier to use, but medium enemies will frequently walk out of it.

They have one thing in common, neither of them do anything when you play with other people. If you're not the network host, damage over time effects don't apply to enemies.

Both completely don't work, but they have different colors

Only when you're not the host. Playing Solo I have found GAS THE BUGS to be a good way to spawn camp a bug breach keeping anything smaller than a charger from making it out.
