Is there any hope of redemption for Helldivers 2?

This game is on a downward spiral and is bleeding players by the day. Is there any hope of change or redemption for this game? I love Helldivers 2 and find this whole situation very sad, since this is helping no one and is killing the game. I would love to hear your thoughts on how things could change. Like, can Arrowhead recover after the account linking is implemented, or is it currently possible for them to change publishers? I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

I dont think so if Sony tries to release further titles. It will not go away if they continue to alienate certain countries that steam operates in and then continue with the PSN account signup. It will always be mentioned until they either leave Steam for good or walk back their approach and make it optional to signup. I will not buy anything published by Sony until this is resolved as I will not trust anything they do.

Don't forget just this December they removed tv shows and movies from their own console players who purchased Discovery shows/movies. If they do that to their own vested players what do you think they will continue to do to us. They don't deserve our money at this point.

Yeah, just make PSN optional for Cross play, and or give an incentive to do it.

If they put the Wolf Brigade looking armor behind linking PSN, this would all blow over.

The way I see it, the simplest, easiests solution would be for Sony to say "PSN accounts will be optional, but we will give you something special if you make an account with us".

Even something simple as a cape would do the trick, or they could give you 1,000 super credits for linking your account (which is a whole battle pass) to make it very atractive for a lot of players.

But that's not gonna happen, so those of us who don't want a PSN account are left with a dead game in our accounts, unless we can successfully refund it somehow.

It's not standing up for the rights that is the problem. It's the assaulting people who speak against it or try to correct a fact that is and how you respond. (Not you specifically.) Like, someone asked a legitimate question earlier on a weapon (I know an ACTUALY hell divers discussion topic!) and people came into the thread and started saying stuff like "Just make a PSN account, it will make the weapon work right." etc.

At this point its wont be anywhere near what it used to be and it will forever have a blight on it much in the likes of games like OW2, where they were killed by upper management. It'll be around, it'll have players, but so does OW2. This game will not thrive in the state it used to.

This is a Dawn of War 3 Situation, the reason why canadian Relic Entertainment was dropped by its own publisher one release later.

This is the last game of Arrowhead. Sony will go on unchanged... and this game will not be the next Destiny or Warframe Alternative anymore after bleeding so much players. The content and the Updates will reflect that. Content costs money. Money they wont make after this with such a tiny revenue.

...but it wont die. It will surely live for 4 years approx.

Dude, i get 2 FAT Items for linking to PSN if i buy Ghost of Tsushima, Arrowhead missed even that opportunity! There were so many ways to easily navigate through that instead of killing it with their CMs on PSN Arrival.

The " bleed " you're talking about is a normal life cycle. As players beat something or play it enough to see everything they trickle away to try other things. People like new experiences. They'll come for new Warbonds and new content but no game stays at the top forever. There is a plateau of popularity and then there's ups and downs, all correlating with new content and its age. Player numbers are still pretty damn high. Some of the evaporation is due to what's Sony pulling too. We'll see come June 4th just how bad it gets. It'd actually be pretty hilarious if so many people refuse the mandate, and quit the game, that Suicide Squad has more players. It probably won't happen though. My money on is a good chunk of the player base eating the situation to keep playing it. All because Helldivers 2 is a really good game, the one and only reason that is going to happen.

Gamers blew the whole borderlands 3 thing out of proportion and COMPLETELY crucified gearbox because they went with Epic and their CEO got physical with the voice of clap trap. All this happened close to the release of BL3, which caused controversy.

Asheron's Call 2, made by Tribune (Microsoft studio.) announced a few hours before the release of a global MMO that the game would infact be region locked. "Surprise Pikachu face!" etc.

You don't know about any of these, right? Because gamers forget. Right now it is a craze and people are "Up in arms." but even with the internet behind them, people forget when they feel "Wronged" or EA wouldn't of sold a single thing in the last 10 years.

So in that regard, HD2 will be fine. They will continue making content for it. The devs/CEO of AH will likely make a deal with Sony, but it still remains up in the air what is going to happen (If anything can be done.) for those in delisted countries and for those people, I am sorrowful.
