NGUARD is still in your PC
Those who uninstalled, there is a folder in your game files that uninstalls gameguard manually, because for some reason it does not uninstall when you uninstall the game (at least for me)

MEANING

That program ( a ROOTKIT) is still in YOUR sysWOW64 folder, Check for yourself.....

Under the SysWOW64 folder of Windows, you might find the files relating to it:

- GameMon.des
- npptnt2.sys
- nppt9x.vxd

You're Welcome

Make sure to check for

npptnt2.sys
nppt9x.vxd

They normally reside in the Windows\System32 folder. Once you’ve found them, delete them.

For those who did FIND these files in System32
-npptnt2.sys
-nppt9x.vxd

CHECK YOUR REGISTRY
To run the registry editor: Click Start > Run > then type ‘Regedit’ without the quotes.

Browse to the following branch:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\NPPTNT2

Remove the entire branch. Close Regedit and reboot your PC.

I love how Arrowhead is also claiming it's completely safe and gets uninstalled. Not related to the current PSN incident, but I think they might have a bunch of skeletons in their closet as well and are just masters of damage control.

Absolutely. As the Web unravels more and more of this is showing.

Don't forget to delete the files in the Steam Helldivers folder and delete everyting related to Gameguard in the Registry.
Sundancer May 5, 2024 @ 11:08am
no files and nothing left in registry after unistalling it

Edit: i was using the uninstaller they provided to uninstall the gameguard and then uninstalled the game

Edit2: i Found 2 Empty Folders in Registry with Gameguard as Search object they contained nothing but i deleted them anyways

Don't be so sure. Open the Registry as admin and search again for Gameguard and you will find something.

GameMon.des also exist on the Helldivers 2 installation folder. Even if you uninsntall helldivers 2, i found a folder named "GameGuard" inside elldivers 2 folder on steam apps, wich contain several archives included this one.

Im just fully manually deleting the HELLDIVERS 2 folder with all it has inside.
