Because it's a bait and switch? If the game came out and PSN accounts were required. They wouldn't have sold as many copies for one.
The other is people would have already been aware of the requirement, even if they didn't see any store page information, as they would have the option to refund after seeing the requirement within the game itself.

Arrowhead is to blame. They probably got a buttered sweet deal for forcing the Account stuff. I don't buy for one second that this is all on Sony. Producers of goods have agency when dealing with distributors, you know?!

I do not own any other games with PS.
Which I made sure to avoid as well as possible by refunding any game I found that instantly had a "YOU MUST BE PSN" pop up.

This one didn't.....Until it did.
