Wait a week or 2 and see if anything comes of all the backlash about this situation. You have time before you HAVE to do anything.

How do we know if it's worth it for you or not? Do you enjoy and want to play the game?

If the answer is yes then yes you should do it otherwise Sony won't let you play

Only if you want SONY to have all your Steam Data.

Like any other company, they are suceptible to being hacked. My bank was a few years ago.

They do get hacked more than they should. I would personally not add my steam details to their databades by linking my account. The question is if the game alone is worth more than the security of your steam account.

Sony spies on PSN players and blocks accounts for nothing.
A little criticism of the soundtrack and that's it for the fun, banned.

(The block is often and initially only temporary, but nevertheless not tolerable.)

I like to repeat myself:
Kiss my hairy Arse, Sony.

The answer depends on what you value.

If you value your privacy and data hygiene, no. Sony is known for massive and regular data breaches, and that's before we even get into the fine print of what their T&C allows them to do with your information. They're as bad as microsoft, google, valve, and the like; the less such providers you forfeit your privacy for, the better.

If you don't, and you just like the game, yes. It's your choice at the end of the day, and prevailing sentiment should at maximum give you something to think about to inform your own decision and stance on the matter. Don't let us convince you not to do something you want to do.

The outrage here is absolutely justified, but if you don't care about how the companies involved use or share your data, it's a non-issue.

Only if you enjoy getting notifications from Sony every couple years that yet another hacker has stolen your data

Linking won't compromise the security of your steam account. All it does is give them your Steam ID #, which is public anyway. (You can look it up yourself on steamrep.com)

You can play destiny/remnant/warframe and its essentially same pew pew. So why tolerate misstreatment if its easily replaced? If they insist on screwing with you then i would insist on not giving them a dime.

No John, its really not, PSN and current SOny practices are freaking nasty, and this would give even more power to sony in HD2. Its ALL loses for us, and can be nasty too.

Only thing we need is being able to skip Link account and have our crossplay desactivated. Fixing this issue is so freaking easy.

Is it worth it to Sony? Absolutely. They get information they can use to market to manipulate you in the future, and they can sell that information on to other people who might like to manipulate you or people like you. Their registered users metrics go up, investors are happy, more money for Sony!

Is it worth it to you? ♥♥♥♥ no, how could it be? More logins to manage, more chances for hackers to get your data, no palpable reward, will likely be seen by Sony as a green light to move forward with other dumb plans, such as their own PC launcher. More money for Sony!
