CEO of Arrowhead just gave up
I've just found it on Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fti8642fdqkyc1.png

Damn, it is so sad to see him giving up like that :steamsad: All he can do is watch how the corporation is destroying his dreams.

And said he is directly responsible for it, and ruins most shills argument "It was always on the store page!!" considering he directly says they didnt communicate the requirement enough.

I do feel bad for him but we must remember there's a way out of every contract. I'd like to think they didn't appreciate how popular the game will be and thought most people won't care.

Instead of giving up he really should make a stand with us or against us because there's only one group that's going to come out of this struggle. Servile consumerist whales or whatever's left of the independent PC gamers.

What a loser. Should have never been CEO.

I'm genuinely curious why the game was aviable world wide on steam in the first place if the psn requirement was known for months before release. Was Valve simply not aware that psn accounts aren't aviable world wide? I doubt they just didn't care or knowingly did something so damaging to the good guy valve image, especially now that they're refunding the game past their usual warranty period anyway

World in flames and he's getting all poetic and melodramatic.

It was on the store page. It was in the installation.

He's right though, clearly that wasn't enough for players to understand.

i wouldn't have bought it (or rather would have quit before playing the 1st game) if i had no other choice to to create a PSN account.
I would have refunded it as soon as access was shown to be locked.

There is a big chance that the success of this game is due to not having to have a PSN account to play

Because it wasn't supposed to happen. Archives of steam store page from 2023 doesn't show any third party software required.

No need to speak french. He show the steam page from the wayback machine and no third party sofware are mentioned in the right part of the page. (contrary to how it is right now.)

Arrowhead studio director "doesn't know" what to do for Helldivers 2 players from countries where PSN is not available. “Just go ♥♥♥♥ yourself,” he concluded.
helzminion May 5, 2024 @ 5:15am
Yah, if there wasn't a big SKIP button for the PSN, I would have refunded immediately. Letting people skip that, led people to believe that it wasn't required, and most likely only for the crossplay. The rug pull 3 months later feels dishonest.
