what happened?
One min people are having a great time, mostly, then a sudden review bomb? What happened? So far I've heard people say Sony made Arrowhead add a PSN account requirement. Does that matter? Based on the backlash I'm guessing it was a mistake, so is the review bomb helping?

Update: Maybe I need to add a bit more detail.. I own the game on PS5, and assume the order to enforce a Playstation account was an order from Sony. I had a long work week and haven't had time to read up on news related to this game. It has been my understanding that Arrowhead is a smaller group, and with that I expect certain, oversights to be made. That means they're going to make mistakes, and they're going to need some time to fix those mistakes. From my perspective, it's like buying bread from a local baker; if one week the bread I receive is burned on the bottom, it was likely a mistake, and they're going to need time to fix whatever the problem was. I don't think they're trying to throw anyone under the bus, so does review bombing them help us, the community community, get what we want faster and more reliably, or will it drive new players away? The reason that would concern me is because the better the game does, the more money Arrowhead is going to have to provide us with new content in months and years to come. I personally enjoy the game, and I enjoyed the first, so I'd like to know that as long as we provide constructive feedback, that we will have more to look forward to. I know Arrowhead has already responded, apologizing for the situation, so I expect it's just a matter of time before they make an official announcement, and you can all go back to playing normally.

pc master race bros with pc's weaker than a ps5 are upset they didn't read the bold print of needing a psn account.

Buddy, you don't even own the game. You're either Steam Point farming through Jester reactions, or thoroughly clueless. Please use Google or other search service.

Snoy decided to sell to people in regions without PSN access for 3 months and then rug pull them.

If it was so urgent to basic functionality, game would not be running 3 months after launch without it.

Nice bait.

People are concerned about data security, the actual scam this is for people in non-PSN supported countries, and Sony just being their usual selves. It's a multi-faceted issue.

yea, it was a problem. only 69 regions have PSN service, while steam has been selling this game in practically every single one. If the game was going to be made exclusive to PSN requirements, Sony was perfectly able to and readily capable of making Arrowhead region lock the game's sales. By locking it out like this after 3 months of sales, they have violated international consumer laws.

As for if it is helping, the Arrowhead devs themselves told users to review like this cause it puts pressure on Sony to reverse the decision.

Yes otherwise a lot of people cant play from some countries.

And yes it does matter and yes it is helping.

None of the devs are happy about the rug pull either, and I saw comments from Spitz on Discord saying the review-bombing and refund requests are helping them convince SONY of how blatantly stupid this is.

Granted, Spitz has caused a ruckus of their own and Arrowhead needs to consider putting some time in to train their CMs with some proper public relations classes, but what they said was at the very least showing they are responding in the correct way *now* to the situation. Delisting it in non-PSN regions also helped damage control, but it really was 3 months too late for that.
