"The developers have announced that they will restrict my access to the game unless I sign up for and use a third-party service and account. This requirement was obfuscated at release and waived for three months, before it was announced as a REQUIREMENT to continue to play the game at all."

Get your funds. Buy some game from devs who respects their users.

Maybe it'll work for some, and not for others. And Steam is getting absolutely mass-murdered with refund requests right now. It might go through, but it'll take some time.

Same ♥♥♥♥ like when Last Epoch was broken from the start, a lot of people spent the 2+ hours in login screen and loading screens. Valve didn't issue refunds. In Helldivers case it is most likely because Snoy published the game and they don't want any legal ♥♥♥♥ with them. In the eyes of players who bought the game, it's a scam backed up by the vendor - Valve.

Refund's pending. Who knows if it'll go through. If they accept or not, there's still nothing stopping anyone from going through Steam support to permanently have the game deleted from their library. It makes that controller go away. If you can't get a refund, and you still have that little controller next to your name, you were just virtue signaling, and Sony will be sure to see you on Helldivers 2 some time in the near future.

I'm waiting to see if valve steps up and pushes out refunds once the update goes live but I do agree, will delete once we get a hard no on refunds from valve themselves after the update goes live.
