"PSN requires users to register in their country or territory of residence. Individuals who are traveling, working, or studying abroad may create an account in a country or territory different from the one in which they are currently located."

Be aware that Sony's age verification collects, stores and processes sensitive personal data including biometric data:

=============================
How do I verify my age?
You can verify your age by selecting a method that suits you; mobile number, facial scan, or ID. Verification methods are provided by our service provider, Yoti.

https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/account/age-verification-faq/
=============================
Enable Face Recognition
You can log in to the PS4™ system with face data added using a PlayStation®Camera. When logging in, the camera recognises your face. Set a checkmark in [Login Settings] > [Enable Face Recognition].

This is an issue exclusive to the big brother land of UK
Ask them to vote better since they wanted to get out of UE laws :47_thumb_up::heavehohappy:

3. I am currently in a country or territory that is not PSN-enabled. Can I still sign in and link an account?

PSN requires users to register in their country or territory of residence. Individuals who are traveling, working, or studying abroad may create an account in a country or territory different from the one in which they are currently located.

So is this a 100% confirmation from Playstation higher ups that they will not at all ban me if I violate their ToS by saying I live in a country I actually don't, and in cases I have troubles and contact their support that they won't ♥♥♥♥ me over at all by asking me stuff related to that country that I didn't live in?

Hey smartie pants, it's not a argument, it's "if you do this we will no longer give you money and your a bussiness that requires us to give you money".

So you trying to "own" us is you owning yourself out of a future game because no revenue for one.

Did you even finish high school or are you just really this incapable of understanding basic economic concepts ?
Meltebolgia May 3, 2024 @ 10:56pm
Yes, indeed, it is a UK thing right now. And in three months from now they will say that it was always there and for our safety they will implement it to other countries as well.

This is too much for playing a game.

Its an UK law

It is Sony finding fertile ground in UK legislation to collect:
1. mobile number,
2. facial scan,
3. or ID.
and provide them to their service provider.

Furthermore the following Sony patent published on 04/04/24 shows how it is connected on the long-term:

=============================
Title
(EN) HARASSMENT DETECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD

Applicants
Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.

11. A harassment detection apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the biometric data comprises one or more of:
i. a galvanic skin response;
ii. a heart rate;
iii. a breathing rate;
iv. a blink rate;
v. a metabolic rate;
vi. video data;
vii. audio data; and
viii. one or more input signals.

12. A harassment detection apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the biometric data is received from one or more:
i. a fitness tracking device;
ii. a user input device;
iii. a camera; and
iv. a microphone.

=============================

It sounds as orwellian conspiracy theory but unfortunately it is not.

Even if it is not implemented, it shows intention on how our personal data might be used.

PSN Provides no benefit to PC gamers.
It only restricts, limits, cripples, and CENSORS gamers.
We don't need sony to make our games, "safe."
We don't want sony to make our games, "safe."
True gamers are already capable of taking any action they desire themselves, they don't need a big SISTER doing it for them.
We have no desire to bump sony's subscription numbers for their next stock meeting.
We are not interested in sony reading (the patent is public) our minds through these games.
We will not put ourselves under the authoritarian control of a corporate minder constantly concerned that any innocuous comment or action could lead to a wipe-out of our accounts based upon the subjective emotional state of the reviewer/operator of the day.
And we are WELL AWARE of how far 'appealing' gets you with such companies.

NO THANKS. NOT NEEDED. NOT WANTED. NOT BUYING.
