PSN was and has been listed in the game's requirements
Before release, at release, and after release, PSN was listed in the game's requirements. So why did everyone pretend until that moment as if it wasn't there? When I bought and launched the game, I saw the requirement to link PSN and just 'put up with it.' In other words, everyone saw it, and nothing prevented them from returning the game. Obviously, Sony sold the product on their terms, so do people really think that by blatantly ignoring these terms they can now change something?
So, what could have prevented people, for whom PSN is not supported, from taking this into account? Moreover, for some people in this category, not only is PSN not supported, but the game is not even sold in intra-platform stores.

Okay, let's assume they can. Review bombing was successful. However, mega-corporations like to look at account statistics and online activity. And the online aspect of the game wasn't affected. And most likely won't be even after mandatory PSN linking.

What does the community hope for? That's what I don't understand.

PS. I'm just trying to understand the purpose of this action. For the most part, I couldn't care less about this game, about another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mega-corporation, hypocritical developers, and the community's hysteria.

PPS. I'll add, don't forget about review bombing on Metacritic then. It's more important for investors, as it's the largest ratings aggregator.

When it comes down to it, even if there was a small blurb near the System Requirements (that most people likely didn't even see when buying), its the ELUA that as far as I can tell, is what will be used to stand up in legal battlegrounds. So if the ELUA didn't mention or note a requirement to have a PSN account then all of this is just Sony and AH stirring the pot and pissing off the playerbase for no reason.

Doesn't matter. AS long as the game was:
A: Able to be played just fine WITHOUT linking a PSN account
B: sold in regions where PSN is not even an OPTION

This is a bold and garbage move on Soyny's part.

Give me a link to the so-called copypasta. There was this notification when the game launched, don't try to deceive reality.

Even if it was in the game's requirements why would they sell localized versions to people who don't even have access to PSN? For example China and Russia have localized versions of HD2 but they can't even sign-up. Also for most player they are beyond the point where they can refund the game. They literally sold a product with the knowledge that some people would no longer be able to play it... If you don't care about mega-corporations or hypocritical devs, go play FIFA 24 or something and spend your money on loot boxes for all I care, but you do not represent the majority. The community either wants a refund or the changes reverted.

First, read what I'm writing before responding in this manner. The game was sold under the terms of a damn corporation. That's the essence of it.

Exactly. Your second point is absolutely correct. They sold it on their terms. They don't care now. You got screwed. Again. Now this game will turn into something else, and Sony just got their money. The community should pursue more serious legal actions, not cry like soyboys in the comments. That's when things will change

If they set a rule and don't enforce it for 3 months then it was a false rule. Especially when they've been actively selling the game to people who can't make a playstation account in their country for those 3 months.

Only 69 out of 195 countries allow for a psn account, and Helldivers was sold in 190 countries. That's active players from 121 countries that are being cut off and will no longer able to support Supper Earth.

So to all those people out there just saying "make an account", "it's not a big deal", you're either pretty thoughtless or heartless.
TyCobb May 3, 2024 @ 10:16pm
Yea, it said it was required when I bought the game, but it wasn't and many sources said you didn't need it. I bought the game with full intention to refund if it actually required me to make a PSN account. I never needed to make it and as such assumed it was required for features I wasn't using or cared about.

There was no mention anywhere that it was temporarily disabled on the store page and that it would force me to make a 3rd party account a month after I forked over the cash.

In this case, we're talking about the Steam store. After all, that's where the main action is happening. Personally, I think the ratings should have been slammed on Metacritic altogether because it's been repeatedly proven across multiple sources that investors only consider Metacritic ratings.

It is still on this webpage:

Do I need a PSN account to play PlayStation games on PC?

No, you currently do not need a PSN account to enjoy PlayStation Studios games on PC, but you will need a Steam account to redeem your voucher code. Some of our PlayStation Studios titles also offer incentives for linking your Steam and PSN accounts.

i have in the ToS of my game that you have to keep donating (yes, donating) money to me after you bought the game...

wont hold in any court, but its there and you should defend it.... riiiight?
Darren Daulton May 3, 2024 @ 10:25pm
Of course it has... but the countries.

/Whispers "No one here making that argument is being sincere , they just think that's what they are supposed to be outraged over. None of them even have accounts in those countries. They are just easily influenced. 70% of them already have a PSN account."
