PC owners pissed about the PS5 registration
First time? This has been going on on consoles for some time now. Has it not on PC? Although a bit annoying this isn't a cataclysmic level issue.

Nah, I'm sick of account bloat. I just want to play my games.

If they set a rule and don't enforce it for 3 months then it was a false rule. Especially when they've been actively selling the game to people who can't make a playstation account in their country for those 3 months.

Only 69 out of 195 countries allow for a psn account, and Helldivers was sold in 190 countries.

So to all those people out there just saying "make an account", "it's not a big deal", you're either pretty thoughtless or heartless.

It's about data farming and control.
It is not for our benefit

I mean, wouldn't you be pissed if you lived in a country where PSN is blocked, you played helldivers on Steam which is available, then Sony made it impossible for you to play anymore because you can't sign up for a playstation account?
They have banned people who attempted to sign up through a VPN to link it with Steam. Sony is literally taking their money away.
Just because it's been going on for a while now doesn't make it okay. I'm proud of everyone speaking up against these practices.

It wasn't a false rule. There were issues with the account linking system, people could not play because account linking wasn't working. So they temporarily disabled it. But now sony is forcing it since it works again.

The point is, we'd like it to stop now. It's not something that benefits players in any way. Why should we like or want it?

Why can’t those countries make PSN accounts?
Yeah, I'm not at all understanding this backlash. When you first booted up the game for the first time, there was a page that said this was a requirement.

I think their biggest mistake was having a grace period of any kind, people clearly just skipped that page and didn't read it.

I agree, I'm tired of needing a separate account to play a game nowadays. Next we'll need to install and use a launcher that Sony decides to make for no reason. Also not comfortable with how easy Sony is getting hacked over the last few years. It's pretty damn alarming.

Can you describe how Sony's boot tastes for me? I'd like to know what I'm avoiding.

If they required it at the start and made it clear in-game when they temporarily suspended it, that would be okay. This is not okay.

The bigger issue is that they willingly allowed purchases in countries where PSN account creation is against TOS and waited long enough for a vast majority of them to go past the refund period.

At best it's extremely anti-consumer and at worst it's plain fraud.

Right, why is that not in the HD2 store page in bold letters? If no one is using PSN accounts to play it is safe to assume PSN is not required but Sony did the same they do with PS users and tried to ran us over. All this would be avoided if the store said that the game would require PSN in the future to play so players don't fall prey to misinformation.
