Like the person pointed out, this actually screws some people over in other countries, not to mention, it's just not a good decision in my opinion, even if it's from day one. It should have simply remained optional, that is my honest opinion, and I say it as a PS5 player.

My direct experience is that it wasn't required because I was able to skip it, and I bought it after seeing video evidence that it was skippable. The warning meant nothing.

I fail to see how this will help keep a lid on griefing, and in all honesty I've barely experienced griefing. I'm not even sure I've even been griefed because I go into this game expecting to be killed by another player, and the majority of the time I can't tell if it's intentional or not, and it's not even going to matter because human nature is a thing. There's going to be griefers regardless.

I just don't freaking like PlayStation. Never have even since the original.

It should not take long for you to realise that no one cares. If you try to reason with certain people, you will inevitably hit the wall of denial, no matter the facts.

The steam page is wrong in information about it.
If you acess the Playstation Store Helldivers 2 Steam version page, there say twice it is not necessary to have a psn account. If the Companys store page say is not mandatory so is not. But if that was write in another page not linked to the game page, so that was a misleading information and go against consumers law. What matters is what is write the the oficial page and in that say is not mandatory. Access the store and you will see it. No one like to be misleaded to buy something and forced after that do other things.

The game itself states that PSN is necessary to play, man, when you first start it, it literally says: "Linking your Steam account to a PlayStation(tm)Network account is required for playing the game". And the message was there the first day they released the game.

Various web pages specifically said you needed a Steam account, not a PSN account.
