And while i would agree that i often disagree with people when they trash the dev on this forum, and that could be seen as me white knighting, especially by the first-world problems crowd with their "The dev is the antichrist and root of all evil in the world" narrative... i have to say that from my perspective i am mostly operating under "credit where it is due" and not wanting misinformation to peddle outrage stand.
I feel that especially today we all should spend a little more time combating misinformation in our lives, instead of perpetuating it for some cheap emotional high.
And to further the point, if i were a boot licker, i would be defending this forced move to PSN. Something i don't do and you won't be seeing me doing (unless it's done by peddling lies, and even then i probably would just point out the lies and not defend the move), for the simple reason that i see no reason why this needs to happen.
PSN is a notoriously unsafe network, Helldivers 2 doesn't seem to need PSN to work and matchmake, and forcing people to sign up to a service that is hacked like every 6 months, is quite frankly bullsh♥♥.
And the "Or Else" type of phrasing of the announcement doesn't exactly make the situation more endearing. Add to that PSN isn't even available in all countries, which means we will be forcefully kick people out of the game by sole virtue of Sony needing that sweet, sweet data harvest to sell to people and use for their own marketing.
So yeah, i am aware that i am often on the opposition of those running around and sharing their hyperbole, by virtue of them using hyperbole, but that doesn't make me a boot licker.
Even if you say it does... i'd still not be paid by Arrowhead or Sony. Ergo... to point to me as evidence for the existence of paid boot lickers is evidence for them not existing.
