If they make it free to play, then they will have to push even more microtransaction non-sense to make up the difference. Not to mention that their match making servers will get completely overwhelmed...

For most games I would agree with you, but the premium currency in this game is easily earned through gameplay.

F2P + Currency that doesn’t need to be bought = no money for Arrowhead

I own everything you can buy with microtransactions. I haven't spent a single penny on them, just the base game.

Considering I have bought every one of the "in app store" warbonds and several of the super store armors, yet haven't actually spent any more money on the game than buying the base version, I'd say the mtx in this game is 100% optional and more of an alternative to finding the currency in missions, which you would still need to do in order to actually get the gear.

You can find the premium currency in-game and if you just play you get plenty of it + there's about 800 of it in the free warbond.

Getting the super credits from missions is a very easy thing to do. Before you know it you have enough to get at least one war bond unlocked. And the war bonds themselves give you super credits to help unlock other war bonds. People only pay for the super credits if they want to just skip it due to impatience, they have the spare money and are like "meh... why not?" and/or want to give the creators more money as support for making the game and junk.

Do you have the game man? This would be self evident if you played it.

Companies figured out they can have their cake and eat it too by selling a full priced game and adding a real money store ontop of that. Consumers accepted getting ripped off as "developers got to eat too" even though developer pay has not been going up from the change and it's just wealthy business executives taking a larger paycheck.

$40 and you can get the premium currency just by playing, i guess that's better than a lot pve coop games out there...

Played 376h have 31k super credits farmed in game in 100h, best game ever and best devs for a live service game! When they bring something out like a expansion only for cash, they can have my money without thinking about it !!! For Super Earth!!!!
